I don't usually make cards in the 5x7 inch size....but this one just seemed to fall together that way! I used the cracked glass technique on an old SU! set. I stamped each on white cardstock: for the dragonfly I glittered his wings with glitter and glue. For the flower I added some color with chalks. Then I did the cracked glass technique...I did 4 layers of the ultra-think embossing powder. Then I placed the pieces in the freezer for a bit to ensure some sharp cracks. After cracking the pieces I rubbed ink into the cracks. Each piece is layered on colored vellum that has been torn along the bottom edge. Memories, Treasure and Timeless are from a huge set of words by Yvonne Albrighton and are stamped on twill ribbon. The large leaf is by Judikins and the nature verse is by Serendipity.

Homemade Glitter Designer Paper!

Do you drool over the glittery designer paper at your local stamp store?! I always do...and can't justify buying it very often. Well...I've been playing with the Figgy Pudding 6x6 pack and decided to try making my own! I used a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen and Art Institute's Ultrafine Pearlescent glitter #189.Pearl. It turned out great....not sure if you can see it on the photo....but it's very nice looking in real life. Woo Hoo!! I also glittered some of the snowflakes on the piece behind the *h.* The fibers are from the Figgy Pudding fiber pack as well as the monogram.
Warm Wishes is stamped on some glimmery paper for a nice icy effect IRL. Not sure I'm so keen on the card....but I sure am keen on the glitter designer paper!

More Peaceful Wishes

I'm up to my ears in Figgy Pudding and what fun it is....check it out!!
This card is a fun way to get a peek at 5 of the different patterns in this collection. I love the way it matches Stampin' Up!'s Sahara Sand cardstock. I stamped the top layer of Sahara Sand with the Linen background stamp in Always Artichoke. The bottom layer of Sahara Sand cardstock is plain. Wreath is also part of the Figgy Pudding Collection and is call Winterland...check it out too!!
I **LOVE** the faux stitching template and scuffing tool as well....I've not been brave enough to try sewing for real yet....but I'm not sure I care!! Just as long as I don't lose my dandy black pen!
Don't forget to check out the Blog Candy post....there are some fun Basic Grey rub-ons on the line here!! You need to upload a card to the Embellish-It Online gallery and comment on my Blog Candy post from Saturday.....your chances of winning are pretty good!! ;)

Printed Vellum Birthday

I was wishing I had some printed made up my own by picking out my favorite fonts and typing out about five rows. Then just copy and paste to fill a full sheet.
This card just uses a small piece of it, but I liked the way it looked over the cuttlebugged piece. The candles have glitter applied with a Sakura quickie glue pen...that is the best for applying glitter to tiny places.

A Bloomin' Snowflake

Well...before I cleaned up my desk a little, this simple card popped together. The snowflake is in a little set by Stampendous! The center looks like a what is a girl to do but put a flower in there?! Love these little metal charm flowers...however I'm not sure of the source anymore.

Thanks to GinaK for the awesome idea to punch circles out the scallop punches....I love doing this to dress up the scallop punches a bit more. The snowflake was stamped in brocade blue ink. I don't have a source for this patterned paper, a PIF gift from STAMPINSTEL...thanks!! :) This piece was again faux stitched and attached to white and black layers of cardstock. The Thinking of You is by Wordsworth.
If you still don't have a Giga Scalloped Circle Punch by Marvy, check out this *need* one!

A Pocket of Snow!

Another snow card....I told you I'm in the mood for some white stuff! This is my first criss-cross card. I was inspired by my Secret Sister on Splitcoast Stampers...she sent me one and then I just had to try one for myself.
The snowflakes are by Stampendous! They are stamped in Brocade Blue ink (SU!) and cut out. Each snowflake is accented with a clear stardust pen (Sakura) The glitter dots on the large snowflake and the tag pull are from Archiver's. The smaller snowflakes have some Silver Dot Sparklers by Stampendous! The patterned paper is from my stash, so the source is unknown. I used faux stitching with the white gel pen (Signo) around all of the pieces and then distressed the edges before attaching them to the card. The thinking of you stamp is by Wordsworth.

Winter Wish

Well....we've seen snow flurries here two days in a row....and this color combo just strikes me as a fun winter combo!
The cut piece is from a cut & fold template by Lace'. Once the cutting is done it is really quick and simple to fold. When I had the medallion folded, I simply cut around it to turn it into a lacey *snowflake*. Doing these on printed designer paper as I did makes it even prettier with the white backing of the paper giving it a bit of contrast. The Prima flowers matched the designer paper and the cuttlebugged piece perfectly! The belt is faux stitched and layered on a white cardstock piece that has had the edges distressed.
I stamped the center oval on the designer paper, the outer oval on white cardstock. For some added interest, I pierced white piece before attaching it to the card. Thanks so much for taking a peek!!
Wish Stamp: SU!
Flowers: Prima
Stencil: Lace'
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Whisper White (SU!)

I teach stamping workshops and love trying new techniques and like a variety of styles. I've been published several times and look forward to submitting more work to be considered for publication. I'm a if you're up late creating, chances are I am too!!
