Simply Said

The question was asked what do you do when you need to find some inspiration?! My answer: I CASE! I find it extremely relaxing to check out the SCS galleries and enjoy the beauty! This week I spent some time in the Simply Said gallery and found some treasures there. Then I like to make the cards my way. From there I usually go off and make things totally unrelated....but since I'm in the CASE stage at the moment I'm going to share two cards I made *my way.* Thanks for looking!! Just Sittin' Here....

Just had to do these frogs again....I'd promised them to a friend....and if I don't hurry up I just might forget I did! LOL! This time I used some paper from Memory Box from their Sugar Collection....I got mine here. The flowers are by Prima, the ribbon by May Arts. The jumbo brad is by Making Memories. The frogs are by Penny Black. The sentiments are by Impression Obsession. I changed What's Up? into Wart's Up by inking the letters with a marker from these two phrases. Looking forward to some more stamping time this week I hope. Thanks for stopping by!!

Bird Song

I love these scalloped circles....these are from Archiver's. I punched holes and threaded some May Arts ribbon through the holes. The paper is from Basic Grey's Periphery line. The bird stamp is from Artistic Outpost and is stamped on acetate with Stazon. It is held onto the distressed cardstock circle with gluedots under the photo corners. The photo coroners are from Basic Grey's Insignia set. I popped them up on foam tape and added the gems from EK Success. The whole scalloped circle is popped up for added dimension.

I love the patriotic pinwheel feel of the paper with the truck....an old-timey summer feel. The ribbon is True Thyme by SU! The truck image and barbed wire stamp is by Artistic Outpost. The Happy Birthday is by Purple Onion Designs. The button is by Making Memories. It comes from a pink and brown set of buttons...but I like the way it went so well with the truck tires. The brads are from JoAnn Fabrics. Ink is black.

I'm blogging for EIO and I thought I would share some of the fun stuff happening over there with you!

Announcement #1: Would you like to see your work featured on the EIO blog?! I'm going to be regularly spotlighting EIO products on the EIO blog and am looking for projects in the galleries to showcase in these posts. Now while we would *love* to see lots of EIO products in action, your piece could be selected even if it uses only one. What I am asking is for you to list EIO products used in your project in your EIO gallery photo description. I usually can pick them out, but if you list the EIO products we will be sure to see them all! Due to the constantly changing nature of the store, I will not be announcing products I will be featuring. Your artwork could be the inspiration for my next product spotlight. I plan on featuring both older and newer products, so if it's in the store it's fair game! See you in the gallery and maybe on the blog!

Sweet Baby Girl

Base of this card is white. The designer papers are from Basic Grey's Sultry Collection. The green scalloped panel is from Archivers, I added the 1/8 inch holes around the edge. The created with love is a Basic Grey Rub-on. I cut around the edge of the rub-on with my scallop scissors.Flowers by Prima, Butterfly is by SU! and is embossed in white on vellum. Gems are by EK Success. I ran the designer paper through the Cuttlebug distressed stripes embossing folder and then sanded it. The corner punches are by SU! and were run through the Cuttlebug Brocade Embossing Folder. Faux stitching and distressing finished it off. Thanks for looking!!!
Just had to show you my $1.00 stamps from Whipper Snapper. (there is one from GinaK and 2 from Impression-Obsession that weren't $1) Got them at a convention and these were mounted to sticky foam. Hubby made me these awesome cherry mounts....I stamped on them with Stazon and then finished them with a matte sealer....they look and feel just like PSX....I like acrylic, but I really love wood!! The rest of the ones I got are bare rubber...and I'll probably not mount them....but aren't these pretty?!

Daddy's Girl!

Well I finally finished this at 2:45am....but I had a lot of fun putting this together. I've always been intrigued by the large letters. I wanted a big black one for my ds's room...but never found the exact font and style I was looking for. I ran across these at Hobby Lobby, they are cardboard and I made this one for dd's room.

I painted the letter white. The designer paper is from the Lilykate collection by Basic Grey. I stamped various stamps from Fancy Pants' Simply Said collection and SU! on the paper and then randomly embossed it with the Cuttlebug Diamond embossing folder. I sanded the embossing to make it pop. Faux stitching and distressing finished off the base layer.

The medallion behind the butterfly is tea bag folding, the kite fold, using the Chenille designer paper by BG. The butterfly is from SU! and is embossed in white on blue vellum. The ribbon and buttons are vintage.

One of a Kind

Well....now that I've been working with this set for a bit I'm finally warming up to it a bit. I wondered for a bit if I was sorry I thought I wanted it....but I guess I'll keep it!! LOL!

The base is Chocolate Chip cardstock. The next layer is Purely Pomegranite that has been *squished.* That is a technique that I just made up! You see....I don't buy the *in color* ink pads...I only let myself buy the paper and an occasional reinker. So...when I want to stamp with an in color I just drop reinkers onto a wet wipe and make a funky pad. That is what I did to get the pomegranite flowers. Then when I was cleaning up my mess I always hate the waste and tonight I wondered what it would look like squished onto cardstock...so I squished several pomegranite panels and it actually looks a little like suede! I then continued squishing on some white cardstock...and then on my pomegranite flowers. The *stuff* in the wipes kind of gives the flowers a watercolored look. I like!!

The ribbon is by SU! as is the tan designer paper strip. The Marvy scallop circle punch is the pink one. I pierced around the edge but left it with no stitching or distressing this time.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Two of a Kind

The title of this post is because again I've been inspired by a card in a SCS gallery...this time by Britiney. I'd been asked to use this paper and this set....and I loved her idea. I didn't tweak it much. Card base is Brilliant Blue, there is a white layer next. The designer paper is by SU! and is called Jersey Shore. I used a garden green strip that has been run through the flower dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and layered on white. Ink colors are Brilliant Blue, Garden Green and Pumpkin Pie by SU! The smallest flowers are punched out with the Boho Punch (SU!)
I used May Arts ribbon. The sentiment is stamped and then punched with SU!'s Round Tab punch. I like the way the top and bottom shapes mimic the stamped ones. I used SU's Horizontal Slot Punch to slip the ribbon through.

One little sneak peek.....EIO's Design Team gallery opens on June 5th.....there are some beauties in there this month!

Thank You So Much

A very simple card...with no coloring! The card base is SU!'s Almost Amethyst cardstock.
The dragonfly by Stampendous! is stamped in Almost Amethyst ink randomly on this panel.
The Certainly Celery cardstock is faux stitched with the white gel pen. The images are stamped on glossy that has been done with the baby wipe swipe technique. Leave spaces between your ink drops for the white streaks. Stamp your images in black and trim for a color-blocked look.
The little silver pinwheel is by Paper Wishes and the amethyst brad is by Lasting Impressions.

My 150th post is coming right up.....leave a comment on the magic post and your name goes into a drawing for one of my random RAK gifts. Who doesn't like getting a card and little goodie in the mail?! Good Luck!!
