Summer Sun!

Today I used up a tag that I've had laying on my desk for a bit. I played the Dare to Get Dirty Challenge at SCS....DTGDgenie1314 to be exact! Tags are fun to use on cards!

This tag uses images from The Rubber Cafe. Season's Cube and Grass Edge stamped on the tag with clear embossing powder. Next I used my stipple brush to add Color Box Fluid Chalk Ink in Olive Pastel. Finally I laid white paper over the image and ironed off the embossing.....it leaves a beautiful faux bleach look.

The rest of the details:
~Martha Stewart scalloped circle punch
~Dragonfly brads
~Flower Shaped Eyelet
~Gold leaves
~SU! Oval Punches
~Penny Black Gold Foil designer paper #60-0001

Thanks much for taking a peek!

Friday Challenge 52 - Embrace Embossing!

Today I am the hostess for Embellish-Online's Friday Challenge. My challenge: To use DRY embossing on your card. Extra Credit if you use two different embossed textures for interest! Check out the challenge post here....I'm selecting one challenge participant and sending them a few goodies! So be sure you upload your card to the gallery, and use keyword FC52 so I can find your card....I hope you can play along...and GOOD LUCK! Please do not post your card on this post....I will select winners from the Embellish-Online Gallery only! Thanks! :)

This card uses BasicGrey's Urban Prairie for it's base layer. I saw some fun faux stitching somewhere a while back....so used it along the card border. I used SU!'s Top Note Die on white cardstock and ran it through the Script Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. The embossed heart is a Cuttlebug Die/Embossing set with SU!'s Pink Piorouette cardstock. I hit the embossing with a white Memories ink pad to make the embossing stand out a bit more. Sweet wishes is done with Karen Foster's snap stamps. The Stampavie image is colored with Copic Markers and highlighted with Copic Spica Glitter Pens. I used a few Martha Stewart punches to add butterflies and lace....and gems to finish it off.

Lizzie Anne Happy Birthday and an INVITATION!

Today is the Blog Hop at Embellish-Online.com, and we'd like you to join us! Head over to the blog to read all about it!

I simply *love* Lizzie Anne's Jolies Fleurs set....and decided to use it for their birthday celebration. I used sketch 85 from their sketch challenges.

I used kraft cardstock as my base. The front of the card is 1-inch shorter than the back. The flower and flourish stabilize the card when it's propped open. I used BasicGrey's Bittersweet Collection for my designer paper. Each square is embossed with Cuttlebug's Script Embossing Folder, faux stitched and distressed.

The flowers are stamped on acetate with stazon, and then I applied Art Institute's ultrafine glitters to the back. When dry, I cut out each flower and used the Xyron to attach it to vanilla cardstock, and then trimmed them leaving a narrow border. The flourishes are by Sizzix, cut from vanilla cardstock and then glittered, they are gorgeous in real life! Thanks for taking a peek!

Miss Bitty Bigger!

I just had to pop this card together last night.....I just love Tracy's new Fred, She Said Digital Designs...and her old ones too!! LOL! Little Miss Bitty comes with smaller wings or no wings at all as a little girl....but I had printed out some bigger Flutterbies...and so I made Miss Bitty's wings a bit bigger! Can't you just see this little cutie in a children's storybook?!

I colored Miss Bitty with my Copic Markers and cut her out. I highlighted Flutterby's wings with B41 Powder Blue and then ran it through my Xyron. I added Art Institute's 85.Crystal Ultrafine Transparent Glitter to it. The flowers are actually a freebie from Tracy which coordinate perfectly with her new images! I accented them with Copic's Spica Glitter Pens, orange and pink. I creased the petals on my craft knife for some added dimension and added adhesive gems to the centers.

The blue scalloped panel is Archiver's, I added faux stitching and accent dots with my Signo white gel pen. Thoughts of you is a Stampendous stamp I've had forever....*perfect* for this card! I used Cuttlebug's Textile Embossing Folder and SU!'s Photo Corner Punch to finish the card. Thanks for fluttering by, hope she made you smile!

Be sure to check out Tracey's challenge here to collect a gorgeous freebie and a chance to win all of the new releases AND a $20 gift certificate!!!

Fred, She Said, More!

This card combines design team work for Fred, She Said Designs and the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 10. This card is full of glittery goodness!!

Base layer is white cardstock. I ran SU!'s Bashful Blue cardstock through the Cuttlebug Textile Embossing Folder. The orange and yellow panels are glitter cardstock that I matted on white.

I layered my floral motif on some green glitter cardstock which I trimmed around the Stained Glass Floral Doodle-dallion that I colored with copics. I did some more cutting so that I could have green glittery leaves for my Dahlia. I printed the dahlia out on some marbled designer paper. The vine die cut is by sizzix and is also the glittery green cardstock.

The flowers are glittery ones from Dress It Up! which I layered on some green glitter circle punches. The large ric rac is by May Arts.

Scroll down and read my previous post.....you could win you a bunch of fun digital designs from Fred, She Said Designs.....see the new releases and join in the fun!

Fred, She Said Blog Hop, Freebie and Contest!

Today Tracey at Fred,She Said Digital Designs is releasing some new images! The design team is putting on a blog hop so you can see the new images in action, so be sure to check out the team list on my sidebar for lots of fun inspiration with the new images!!

To celebrate the new releases, Tracey is having a new release challenge, the prize being ALL of the new digi's and a $20 gift certificate to the lucky winner!
Tracey is offering a FREEBIE image, all you have to do is make a card or project with it, follow Tracey's posting instructions and you could be the lucky winner! The Design Team will be voting, and I can't wait to see what YOU come up with!!

I'm a *flower girl*, so I'm seriously loving Blossom & Butterfly Digi-Stamp set. I printed off several sizes of this flower and colored them using Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I creased each petal and attached my layers of flowes with gluedots. A Sizzix die was perfect for my vine.

The sentiment is by Wordsworth, the die cut panel is from Embossing Arts I believe....they are from my early days of stamping! I used Cuttlebug's Textile Embossing Folder and a McGill corner punch for the inner panel.

Special Day

This card is just fun, using the SU! Parisian Breeze Specialty designer paper with Baja Breese. I know, they are no longer available....so maybe now I'll start using them! I used Chocolate Chip cardstock to frame the butterfly, and the swirls are actually a bronze metallic cardstock, and they look very rich in person. The swirls are Sizzlits (Swirls Scribbles) and are available through SU! The ribbon is vintage (thanks Debbie!)

It's Your Special Day is by Impression-Obsession and is stamped in SU!'s Chocolate Chip.
The butterfly is from SU!'s Butterfly of Happiness set. I embossed it in white detail embossing powder on some blue vellum. I attached two together so my wings flutter.

Tangled Up In Blue

I made this card for Fred She Said Designs using the challenge at Stampin' For The Weekend as my inspiration. We were to use a song title as our inspiration, and one of the suggestions was Tangled Up In Blue, and though I don't know the song, I love the ribbon feel of Tracy's Stained Glass Floral Doodle-dallion design.

I colored the image with blue Copics, B23 Phthalo Blue and B39 Prussion Blue, to be exact. Then I cut out areas of the medallion so I could layer it on glitter paper and have more contrast.

A Martha Stewart butterfly punch and the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder dressed up the center of my medallion. Adhesive pearls are the finishing touch. Base cardstocks are black and Ballet Blue by SU!

My posts have been hit and miss lately....I'm busy making card samples for Inky Antics for CHA!
They are fun images and I'll share them when I can.

Let's Get Together!

For this card I used the sketch for Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 9. Check out her awesome blog candy offering! Someone is going to have a LOT of fun!

I'm still having fun with Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird Crafting Kit which can be purchased at Embellish-Online.com. The colors are fun and different from those I usually select. The image is Stampavie's Shopping Girl, which I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored with Copics and highlighted with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I used the prismacolors since I really didn't have any Copics the right color, and it's a fun way to expand your color selection. I also added highlightes with Copic's Spica Glitter Pens and a white gel pen. Faux stitching and distressing add some detail and texture. I inked the edges of my distressing with a Fresco Chalk Ink Pad; Medici Marble. The sentiment is a metal sticker from Magenta. Base cardstock is SU's Riding Hood Red.

So, if you are in the mood to shop.....click on the Embellish-Online blinkie on my sidebar. Use the word GLITTER in the voucher box at checkout to save you 20% on your ENTIRE purchase EVERY DAY of the year!!!! Have fun!!

Friday Challenge 50 - Wildflowers not Weeds!

This Friday's Challenge at Embellish-Online.com is mine.
The Challenge: Wildflowers, Not Weeds! Let's look at flowers and not the weeds. This week make a flower the FOCUS of your card, layout or project.

I used Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird line for these cards. This paper is double-sided. The tiny floral pice with the circle cut out of the middle (above) is actually a scrap from the 4U card I posted Monday, it was still on my desk, so I flipped it over and used it to frame my tea bag *flower!* I layered the medallion on SU!'s So Saffron cardstock and trimmed it with a tiny scalloped scissors.

Blue Bayou cardstock is by SU!, as is the photo corner punch. I also used Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder on the punched corner pieces. Brad is by Basic Grey.
This medallion uses the same basic kite fold as the previous card....but for this one I just alternated using them face down and face up. I love the way the same pieces can be arranged to look SO different! This piece has some dimension that is fun too.

Fred, She Said - 4U!

I'm playing catch-up on my cards after a weekend of family fun. This card is for the Digital Tuesday Challenge. I used images from Fred, She Said Digital Designs: Faux Foldy Flowers v1 editionA. I used two of the 10 colors for this card. I wanted a clean and simple summery birthday card.

This card rotates to open, and I've created a little pocket to hold a little note or gift of money.

Card base is an Archiver's scalloped circle. I used Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird Crafting Kit for my circle, and SU!'s Old Olive for my embossed pocket. I used the Swiss Dot embossing folder along with SU!'s Scalloped Edge punch for a fun finished look, along with the faux stitching. Basic Grey brads in two sizes fit my flowers perfectly. I'm not sure it's evident in the photo, but I have scored each leaf and petal for added dimension.

The letters are Rootbeer Thickers from American Crafts.

My Friend Lizzie

I did this card for the sketch challenge at Lizzie Anne Designs last week. I used the Glitter and Acetate technique...it is easy and always adds lots of pretty zing to a card! I cut the image out and then popped it up on a pop dot for fun dimension.

I used a Marvy scalloped circle punch (the pink one) and then dressed it up with piercing and white gel pen. For the stitching on the Sahara Sand layer, I did it freehand.

Ribbon: vintage (thanks Debbie)
Glitter: Art Institute
My Friend: Karen Foster Snap Stamps
Scalloped Border Punch: SU!
Photo Corner Punch: SU!
Cuttlebug Swiss Dot Embossing Folder
BasicGrey Bittersweet Designer Paper
SU! Chocolate Chip and Sahara Sand Cardstocks
