Crafty Ann Embossing Challenge ~ Stampavie

I have been so wanting to color this little sweetie....andso I decided to use it for the Crafty Ann challenge this week...which is to use embossing.

I used the bird swirl cuttlebug embossing folder on kraft cardstock. The image is colored with Copic Markers, and I doodled around the design. Happy Birthday is from SU!, the leaves are from Fred, She Said Digital Designs. The flowers are silk ones that I took apart and the center of the flower is a making memories decorative brad. Minibrads are by Bazzil and the brad buddies are from Paper Wishes. Thanks for the fun challenge girls....I don't make many cards without a touch of embossing!!

Digital Tuesday Challenge ~ Summertime!!

Hello and welcome to another Digital Tuesday Challenge! Ellie is our hostess for this week.

She chose Summertime for our challenge!

*************

Our sponsor for this week is Digital Stamp Oasis

The winner gets to choose 3 digis from my etsy store. How fun is that!!

I used this darling Emma in the Strawberry Patch image from Fred, She Said Designs to reflect summertime. I colored her with Copic Markers and doodled her a frame. I touched the white flowers with a white signo gel pen for some added pop. My strawberries are colored and popped up on foam tape. The punch is from Martha Stewart...one needs birds in the summer! I have one little blossom too.

I don't know about you...but this makes me want some Strawberry Shortcake!! We hope you can join us and play along! We want to see your version of summer!!!

Designed 2 Delight for Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge

The sketch for Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 60 made me think of the Beary Big Gift image from Designed to Delight. I used the bear's head for the half circle in the sketch.

I colored this image with Copic Markers to match the BasicGray designer paper. The stamps are from SU!, the glitter dots are by Dress It Up! and the flowers are by Imaginisce and Heidi Grace. Fun sketch, ladies!!!

Fire Cracker Designs Eclipse Challenge

I'm so excited, I was asked to be the July Guest Designer for Fire Cracker Designs!! I can't wait to get started......so I decided to start off with the Eclipse Challenge they are hosting. Check out the link to read all about it and play along!!

This also fits the Creative Corner Challenge this week...I am *loving* this color combo challenge!!

I printed the Into Forever image on matte photo paper and colored it with Copic Markers. I went with the friendship/cool theme and have added a white and black circle in the form of glitter dots to my design. I love this scrap of designer paper I found in my bin....I love the perfect color scheme and how it could be either land or sea that leads you on your journey to forever.

Thanks for the fun ladies, and I can't wait to create with you all in July!!!

Creative Corner Challenge

I've been enjoying challenges lately...and today I made a card for the Creative Corner Challenge. The challenge is a color challenge, using blues and greens.
I used a cute little Stampavie girl...and lots of blues and greens. Martha Stewart punches added a bit of lace, and a glittery Heidi Grace flower is topped off with a vintage button and a ribbon scrap. Her hat I stamped again, cut out and popped out on the bottom with foam tape, so it looks like she is peeking out from beneath it.
Copics used: YG17, YG23, E47, V09, V06, R85, B45, B41, YR23, Y32, E51, E21, E02

Happy Birthday To Me!!!

It's my birthday today!!! What better way to celebrate than with a chocolate cupcake. This card is all birthday....Hey Cupcake from The Rubber Cafe is a really fun set...and this sentiment is perfect for a birthday...a reminder to seize the moment!!

I used paper piecing on this card. I used the BasicGrey Cupcake collection. I love the designer paper that looks like sprinkles and I added adhesive thing-ys that remind me of the ones used in baking!
I created a little tag to write your message on....the little cupcake looks adorable...and if you're going to have ONE cupcake, you might as well have FOUR, no?! These I colored with Copic Markers. Hope you have a happy day!!

So Excited to Share.....

I'm so excited to share that I've been given the opportunity to design for Designed 2 Delight.
I love Faith's images and look forward to working with them!! Check out my sidebar to see the other talented designers I'm fortunate to work with!

This image is called Puppy Love....so sweet! I printed it out on designer paper and dressed it up a bit with Copic Markers and Spica Glitter Pens. I added faux stitching around the image and then threw in some SU! punches. Photo corners, modern label and word window punches.

The dog bone is from The Rubber Cafe and Happy Anniversary is from Peddler's Pack.

Boy Birthday....

Here is my card for the Polka Doodles challenge this week...to make a boy birthday card. I used the freebie image from Designed2Delight, and colored it with my Copic markers. I distressed the edge of my image with Tim Holtz's Broken China Distress Ink. The fish has been cut out and is popped up on foam tape.

The ricrac is vintage and it made me think of waves. I used the circle cuttlebug folder...for bubbles of course!!! Happy Birthday is an image from Purple Onion Designs.

Thanks to the Polka Doodles ladies for another 3rd place mention on their blog. I've been enjoying your challenges!!

Fun Fold ~ Spring Card!

I don't know if you have seen these fun cards yet...but I ran across one today. You can find the tutorial here...it's easy to follow!

I used some heavy designer paper from My Mind's Eye. The lace edge and corner punches are by Martha Stewart....you just gotta love the stuff she comes out with!! I dressed mine up with some little pearls....LOVE!!!!! The image is a pre-colored digital image from Fred, She Said Designs called Corner Rose. I love to color, but these are so gorgeously colored, I just LOVE them too! Since I seem to be using the word LOVE a lot in this post...I guess it is fitting that I made an anniversary card....the sentiment is by Peddlers Pack.

I finished of the lower corners with some Martha Stewart butterfly punches that I punched out of some fancy coated paper.

I added my own touch, since I'm not sure where a person is supposed to write on this sort of card. I made an insert with a ribbon loop that will fit in the fold behind the front panel. This card folds flat and can be mailed.

I would love to hear what you think of it!!

Circular Easle Cards - Birds!

I mentioned the other day that I was on a circular easle card kick....and here is one featuring a bird stamp from Inkadinkadoo. The scalloped die for the card is a Sizzix one from SU! and the scalloped edge punch is SU! The swirl on the card base is a Sizzlet die, and the small scallop is a by Nestibilities. Prima flowers, dress it up gem, and pre-colored digital leaves from Fred, She Said Digital Designs.
This is a simpler version using SU!'s bird punch. The buttons I used to prop the cards open are from American Crafts.
Check out the tutorial HERE for these cards.

Digital Tuesday Challenge 64 ~ Brrr!!!!

Hello and welcome to another Digital Tuesday Challenge!
Anne-Marije is our hostess for the challenge of this week.

The challenge for this week is: Christmas in June. So we like it to see a card or project with a Christmas digistamp.

Our sponsor for this week is:

Dustin Pike

Dustin is offering 3 digis to the winner! Dustin makes beautiful digis, so take a look in his shop...

For this week's card I used a pre-colored image called Catchin' Flakes from Fred, She Said. I went with winter....for my theme. I cut the image out with a Nestibilities die and lightly sanded the embossed edge. This is a new Cuttlebug snowflake die that I picked up online....it only has the snowflakes on the edges....way cool! I embossed navy cardstock and then highlighted my snowflakes with a white ink pad. Snowflake punch is Martha Stewart and the gems are from Dress It Up! Happy Winter is from A Muse.

Dad's Day....

Here is the card that our dads rec'd this year...the image is by SU! and is colored with Copic Markers and the Copic Airbrush. The cloud was colored with a white Prismacolor pencil so it resists the ink.

The birch bark was found in my flowerbed....and just meant to be inked! I ripped it in half and had enough for two sentiment panels. The ends are naturally curled under. The alphabet is from Paper Artsy. The Cuttlebug Herringbone embossing folder and photo corners finished the card.

Sweet Birthday

Oooh, a sweet little birthday card today using Hey Cupcake from The Rubber Cafe....featuring paper piecing. A simple way to make an eye-catching card! I just LOVE all of the little cupcake accessories this set comes with! This cupcake has a little glittery heart popped on top! This set comes with a nice variety of five sentiments, loving the font of this one!!

I used BasicGrey designer papers and vintage seam binding.

Cabin In The Woods

This cabin image is so fun for a fella card. It is a digital freebie from Robyn's Fetish. You can check it out here. I used it for the Polka Doodles Challenge HERE.

I colored my image with Copic Markers, then faux stitched, and distressed my edges. The sky/grass have been airbrushed with Copic Markers, though it is hard to tell. I added distressing ink in Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain to the designer papers.

The scrap of birch bark I found out in my flower beds...I'm not sure from where it came because there isn't a birch tree nearby....but I knew I would find a place for it in my stamping studio! The left side had a natural roll in it...and a hole...so I tied it with twine. For you is from SU! as are all of the punches used on this card. The decorative brad is from Making Memories.

Copics used: YG97, G99, YG67, YG17, YG23, G20, R59, E47, E44, W0, W1, W3, W5, W7

D2D Design Challenge

Faith at Designed 2 Delight is offering a really fun challenge on her blog.....it's progressive! You use this image and post it in her challenge and the next week, and every week that you play thereafter, you receive a freebie for the next week's challenge! I bought last week's image so I could hop in and play along...and this was the fun image in my mailbox last night!!

This image came with several fun sentiments....but with the layout I started they didn't work...and this stamp from Stamps In Motion came to mind....doesn't it look like little birdy feet?! A friend let me use her Martha Stewart bird edge punch....so I had to add a little birdy lace on here too!

Just A Note....

I just love these little ladies from Stampavie....they are so fun to color with Copic Markers! This card is simple in nature, but I think that lets the image shine!

Designer paper is by Making Memories....picked it up at a Tuesday Morning store....I have a whole glorious pack of it.....and I will love every scrap! Speaking of scraps, I've layered the Martha Stewart punched piece on a scrap, using the reverse side! The brads are from Bazzil, and they came in this color combo...I they matched perfectly! Handy since I didn't think of them until AFTER I colored the image!!! Just a note is from Impression-Obsession. Copics used are listed below. Thanks for stopping by!

Designed 2 Delight Color Challenge

As you know if you've been visiting my blog lately, I've been enjoying challenges. Today Faith, from Designed2Delight issued a color challenge....you can check out the inspiration piece in her post here.

I just think this little dragonfly is adorable....and so I used my Copic Markers and pulled out the Prima flowers! The papers are all remnants....I'd say this is a fun way to use them up! It is hard to tell...but I added some clear spica glitter to the wings. Copics used are shown below....thanks for taking a peek!

Digital Tuesday Challenge 63 ~ Easle Card

It's Tuesday again! Time for another Digital Tuesday Challenge...and this week Anneke is our hostess. Her challenge for this week... " Make a easel card"

Our sponsor this week is Robin's Fetish, who is giving away 2 of their adorable images to one lucky winner! Be sure to check out all of the challenge details HERE....we hope you can join us!

I have cupcakes on my brain today....chocolate ones!!! I used the Vintage Cupcake set from Studio 313. The vintage designer paper is paired up with Copic-colored images. I used a circle easle card like I made earlier in the week. I think I'm hooked! They are fun! Shawne has the Studio 313 store closed due to a move of household....but you will want to keep your eye on her shop....this set is a definate keeper!!

You can check out my earlier blog post for the link to the tutorial that I used. Other items I used were the large sizzix scalloped circle die, dress it up glitter dots, SU! punches and prima flowers. Hope I've made you hungry!! (wink!)

Designed 2 Delight Snow Angel

Ooh, this image from Designed2Delight is just so cute....here I am making snow cards and summer isn't even officially here yet! I think this image is adorable with it's stick wings!!
I colored the image with Copic Markers and layered it on some Cuttlebug scraps I had laying handy. I dressed up the card using some vintage seam binding, a Martha Stewart snowflake punch and a Dress It Up gem.

Where oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone.....

The Polka Doodles challenge this week is to base the card on a nursery rhyme. I had this pup, Buddy, from Stamp Shoppe Creations laying on my desk for a while now....and this little rhyme popped into my head.

I paired up this fun designer paper with some vintage ric rac that I found recently....and the Riveting SU! set. The image is colored with Copic markers. Thanks for the fun!!

Delightful Inspiration Challenge

Spent a little time today playing along with the Delightful Inspiration challenge. The challenge is to use this image from Designed2Delight called Mice Wishes in a project....so here is my little make a wish card! This also fits Creative Corner's challenge this week - Got You Cornered.

I colored my image with the Copic Markers in the photo below....and then had to go find my BasicGrey Nook and Pantry collection. I used a matted cuttlebug panel that has been laying on my desk for ages. I doodled a frame, added some photo corners and some glittery flowers from Dress It Up! Make a Wish is from Printworks.

Pink Shasta Daisy!

This card features the Shasta Daisy image from The Rubber Cafe. This is a gorgeous image that really makes the Copic Markers Shine! Select 3 or 4 coordinating hues and have fun with the flowers. I start with the darkest colors and go towards the lighter ones. I finish off by adding another touch of the darker colors as needed. I use 2 coordinating hues for the leaves.

I stamped the image on white cardstock and then cut it out with a detail scissors and craft knife. I framed the image with a Cuttlebugged Nestibility scrap. I used oval and scalloped oval Nestibility dies under my stamped image. SU! photo corner punches are dressed up with Martha Stewart butterfly punches in two sizes.

I love this image. I did it in oranges last time I used it....gardens are full of color though....so I'll be experimenting with my copic colors more!!

Copics used: R39, R37, R22, R21, YG67, YG23

Flying The Flag in Florals!

So, I've found another challenge blog....this one is Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog. The challenge this week is to make a card using the colors of your flag. I love red, white and blue, but I don't usually thing to make cards in this color combo. Though another one I made comes to mind...and I liked that one too!!! ....note to self!! (wink!) This challenge also fits another challenge this week, for Daring Challenge Blog.

This is a new card I made using Fred, She Said's Polka Dotty Flowers. They come in FOURTEEN gorgeous hues....they are a must have if you like polka-dotted posies!!! I recently met a new stamping friend, *Bug* from CA. She mentioned making a circle easle card....so I decided it was time to try one! I googled for a tutorial and came up with one by Valita. Rather than re-invent the wheel....check out her great tutorial!!

I used a Hero Arts Hello stamp, Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots embossing folder, SU!'s scalloped circle die, and a Sizzlet Swirl Die.

I hope that this card makes you grin! It makes the GLOOMY day here more cheery for sure!!
Thanks for the fun ladies!!!

Tonight stamping did for me what I love it to do....took me away for a while to a happy place! I wasn't planning on stamping....I've not felt in the mood much today....but checking my email led to browsing...which led to finding a *new to me* challenge blog. Polka Doodles! The challenge this week was Modern/Retro Anniversary.

I have a pile of beautiful Fred, She Said Corner Roses cut out on my desk....and for some reason *retro* brought to mind BasicGrey's Nook & Pantry Collection. Thanks for the inspiration ladies....I enjoyed my evening with you!

Happy 90th Birthday Grandma!

This card is so *my grandma*....she loves lace and roses! She celebrated her 90th birthday yesterday...and I had much fun putting this little card together for her!! She is a quiet example in many ways to our family and is very loved. I hope to have her outlook and spirit at 90!

I used a pre-colored corner rose from Fred She Said Digital Designs. I could have printed and colored my rose with Copics...but I just love the the gorgeous coloring Tracey did on these....so I just have my fun cutting, punching, embossing and searching for the perfect embellies!

The Happy Birthday is from Stampendous, the punches are Martha Stewart and the embossing folder and number dies are by Cuttlebug. Designer paper is TuTu Dot by BoBunny. I wouldn't mind a few more sheets of this!!

Digital Tuesday Challenge 62 ~ Chalks!

Hello and welcome to another Digital Tuesday Challenge. Amy is our challenge hostess this week. Her challenge to you is to put those Copic Markers away and bring out your chalks. Yes, you heard me right, your chalks. Remember those? They were all the rage not too long ago. She thought this would be a great challenge to do so we can show how digital images can be colored any way traditional stamps can: watercolors, pencils, markers, and even chalks!

Our sponsor this week is Meljens . Meljen's is also giving away 4 DIGIS to one lucky randomly chosen winner! So if you want a chance to win, simply link a new card using at least one digital image to Mr. Linky HERE, and be sure to color with chalks!

My card is done using the I-kan-dee chalks by Pebbles Inc. This card was super quick and easy to do....it leaves a very soft look, perfect for this image from Meljens. I kept the card simple in style to keep the focus on the softly colored image. I framed it with a scrap from an SU! Top Note die and finished the card with some fun pink trim. Thanks for taking a peek!!

Bright and Beautiful....

Another post from me today....because my first post was held up due to Blogger yesterday! I have been busy in the stamp room....though you've not seen much of it on here! I'm hoping to post lots more this week!

This set combines *a few of my favorite things*....now I've got book titles AND songs running through my head!! I love white cardstock...it's crisp and paired with SU! cardstocks and Prima flowers this makes a cheery set. I know I've said this before, but I'm *SO* glad that Tracey from Fred, She Said created this frame and flourish template to fit in the Top Note die....piercing is simple, clean and yet so gorgeous!
A touch of distressing and a Paper Inspirations sentiment finishes the card.
Thanks for stopping by....I'm sorry I've been MIA....it's been a bluesy few weeks and I'm finally feeling a bit more like my stampin' self! Hope you are all having a great week!

Birthdays and Balloons!

Here is a fun card using the Birthdays and Balloons set from The Rubber Cafe. This pup is wishing the recipient a happy day!

I colored the image with Copic Markers and doodled a frame around the image. I used the little bone image to dress up my corners on this card. I used Tim Holtz distressing ink and some vintage notions to warm up the card a bit.

Be sure to check out this set in the store....it has FIVE fun sentiments in addition to another dog and THREE additional images!!

Happy Monday everyone!!

Digital Tuesday Challenge 61 - Let's Get Trendy!

Happy Tuesday! Shelly is this week's hostess for the Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog.
The theme for this week is:

"Lets Get Trendy"

The challenge is simple - pick a trend (Retro, the 80's, a fashion trend, famous color combo, etc.) and create a project around that trend. For this challenge you are the master of your design and can go with what inspires you.

This week we are proud to sponsor:

What's up for grabs this week? How about a chance to win 4 digital images from In Style Stamps. Entering is simple, check out what you have to do here.
My card info:
I used the Barn Girl image from In Style Stamps. I printed the image on Kodak's matte photo paper and then distressed the base image with Tim Holtz's Barn Door and Frayed Burlap distress inks. I then applied Antique Linen distress ink to the horse portion on another printed image, cut it out and applied it to my prepared base layer. Finally, I colored the barn girl with Copic markers, cut her out and popped her up on foam tape.
My trends are paper tole, which was popular when I was a youngster and the country color theme of red, white and blue that I also remember being popular. Thanks for stopping by!!
