Prickley Pear Color of Winter!

This sentiment is Color of Springtime from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. I decided to make an all white card...reminiscent of a fresh snowfall...all sparkly and bright!

Cardstock and papers are a pearlescent paper I found in my stash. Pearls and roses are by Prima. Cuttlebug embossing folder and a Tim Holtz Rosette die are finished off with a Martha Stewart snowflake and a pearl. Ribbon by May Arts.

Digital Tuesday Challenge 87 - Cozy Penguin

Happy Tuesday! It's time for another Digital Tuesday Challenge!

The challenge we got for you this week was chosen by Ellie and it is called

Animals at Christmas Time.

As always feel free to make anything you like, just be sure to include a digistamp somewhere on your creation and of course follow our theme.

Our amazing sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear Stamps

and the winner gets 5 digital stamps from their store.
Be sure to check out their store, they have lots of cute images and digipapers to choose from.

I chose to be Clean And Simple this week....I'm using the Skating Penguin image from Designed2Delight. Not sure if penguins qualify as animals...and my 3rd grader is in bed, so I won't ask him! ....but since he's got a scarf on and he's fuzzy...I say he's an animal for this challenge!!

I colored the image with Copic Markers and popped it up on foam tape. I framed him with a Cuttlebut Plus embossing folder and added some Martha Stewart snowflake punches. The designer paper has been floating around in my bin for quite a while...but I knew it was there and it's time had come! I love the swirly snowy feeling!

MMSC81 - Prickley Pear Bells!

Here is my take on this week's Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge! I want to thank the kind ladies there for picking the card I made last week as one of their Remarkable cards! I really appreciate your kind feedback on my work!

For this card I used a beautiful seasonal image from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. I stamped the Christmas Bells on acetate with black Stazon ink. I colored the reverse side with Copic markers and then ran the image through a Xyron sticker machine. I applied sliver Art Institute Glitter to the back of the acetate. Then I ran the image through the Xyron machine again and attached it to the black panel.

The background is done using Raisin Adirondack Alcohol Ink and Adirondack Alcohol Blending Solution on matte photo paper. It reacts differently on the photo paper than it does on normal glossy paper! So grab your photo scraps and use them up for card making!!

Ribbon is by May Arts, glitter dots by Dress It Up! and snowflakes by Martha Stewart.

Holiday Gifts Designed2Delight Blog Hop!!

This time of year it is great to have little gifts on hand to share with those you love. The Designed2Delight team is hosting a blog hop of little gifts that you can enjoy making and sharing with others. When you are done here, be sure to visit Faith and see all of the team projects HERE. There will be random drawings for commenting on each hop post and on the card-ideas post. Contest will close at the end of day Cyber Monday...so don't miss out!! Awesome sales too...if you like the images you see along the way!!

I enjoy baking bread...and it is a gift that others enjoy receiving.

The tag is a combination of digital images that I colored with my Copic Markers.
I used a sentiment from the Christmas Tag Sentiments set, I used Sack of Sweetness from the Holiday Baking Set, and I used the Plaid Circle Label from the Holiday Circle Labels set.

I cut out the Plaid Circle Label and used it as a frame on a Nestibility Die Cut. I printed Made With Love on River Rock cardstock, which I then ran through a Sizzix/SU! embossing folder. The Sack of Sweetness image is popped up on foam tape. Snowflake punches are from Martha Stewart.

Winter Wishes!

This is a fun winter birthday card that popped together recently. It uses a mishmash of supplies.

The card is a tent fold, I believe it is called. The actual folded card is 4.25 x 4.25 inches. The label image by Art Gone Wild extends above the card fold to make the card the A2 size of 5.5 x 4.25 inches.

I colored the gorgeous pine bough image from Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz Collection with SU! markers, stamped it on kraft cardstock and then cut it out.

Snowflake puches are by Martha Stewart. The background has been embossed wtih a holly embossing folder.

Digital Tuesday Challenge 86 with Studio 313!

This week's Digital Tuesday Challenge is to make a snowy card...and I did just that with some funn digital images from Studio 313's Mellow Out set.

Shawne has these images both as pre-colored and line drawings. I used the pre-colored cup...and added some shading with my Copic Markers. I used a bunch of scraps from my desk in my usual fashion!

The oval is from a Cuttlebug Embossing Plus die. The lacey piece behind that is from a Creatables die. The large snowflake is a Spellbinders die, the small snowflake punch is a Martha Stewart punch. The snowflake buttons are from Dress It Up. The photo corners are a SU! punch. Designer paper is October Afternoon. Ribbon is from my stash.

I hope you can take time this week to mellow out!! If you can find some time to join us in our challenge...check out the details and the prizes here!

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 80 and Stampin for the Weekend Challenge

Oooh, liked this week's Midnight Madness Sketch!! I also want to thank the ladies there for selecting the card I made for last week's challenge for one of the Remarkable Awards! That was so fun to receive!

I used the Winter Chickadee from the Winter Bird Series at Fred, She Said Digital Designs for my card. I colored the image with Copic Markers and then ran it through the Sizzix Embossing folder from SU!. I love the texture this gave the image! I then distressed the panel with Tim Holtz's Frayed Burlap distress ink to make the image pop.

Designer paper is by Making Memories. The snowflakes are all rubons from BasicGrey. Swirls are die cuts from Creatables.

I am also going to enter this card in the Stamping for the Weekend challenge since their theme is winter, and this so fits!!

Holiday Gift Tags

This time of year it is nice to have some little tags ready for quick gifts for those in our lives we want to show appreciation for! I came up with these really quick and simple but gorgeous tags.

I used the Warm Wishes set from The Rubber Cafe. I love that there are different sized images and both solid and line images in this set. Happy Holidays comes in two sizes in this set...so you will always have the right sized image for your creations.

For three of these cards, I embossed my images on the light green paper and then distressed them with Frayed Burlap distress ink. The embossed images show up light green and give a warm toasty feeling.

For the top right card I simply stamped my images with the Frayed Burlap ink onto the light green paper.

I embellished all of the cards with vintage seam binding and snowflake punches. Thes cards measure 3x3 inches.

Acetate Card with Prickley Pear!

Today I'm sharing another acetate card using a Prickley Pear transparency and stamps.
I used the glitter and acetate technique to apply glitter to the back side of the transparency. I used Art Institute glitters. I stamped Time Flies on the acetate with black Stazon ink.

Once dry, I attached the acetate image to the front of an acetate card with glue dots that are hidden behind the glitter. I applied the matted designer paper behind the front of the card with more hidden glue dots.

The panels on the table are applied to the back of the acetate card in the same manner...the designer paper, that has been stamped with Clock Face and Wings to the inside of the card and the black mat to the outside of the card.

Now a Pair of Winter Bird Cards For You!

I posted some beautiful Fred, She Said bird cards last week that were the pre-colored images...however I do love coloring with my Copics....so I gave it a shot using the pre-colored images as my guide. I love how they turned out!! I kept the card designes simple so the focus can be on the birds!

Image: Christmas Bird Series
Paper: Chocolate Truffle, white, making memories
Punches: Martha Stewart snowflakes, SU! corner punches

I did the same here....just love these little buddy birds!!

Desginer paper: My Minds Eye, Chocolate Truffle, White

Another Pair of Prickley Pear Cards!

I have a couple of girly cards for you today!! My first card is an acetate shaker card! How is that for mixing techniques up a bit?! I've never seen one before...but why not?! This was actually really fun and quick to make.

I used papers from The Girls' Paperie for my card. My card actually started with the nesties frame, which was *garbage.* I had started to make another card...and that idea stunk so was scrapped. I hated that I had messed up my pretty paper....so decided to frame something with my scrap!!

I distressed the frame with Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. I stamped Be My Valentine from the Hearts and Flourishes half sheet from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

I decided to be different and just have one floating heart in my shaker....so I embossed this gorgeous heart from Prickley Pear in some Pink Frost embossing powder. I distressed my heart with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink as well. I attached my frame to acetate and then with foam tape to the front of my card, sandwiching my heart in there! I applied the designer paper to the inside of the front of my card, with hidden glue dots.

For a message, inside of the card there is a coordinating panel...and to hide the adhesive, I attached a chocolate mat to the back of the card.

The rose is a button and the ribbon is vintage seam binding.

And for this card I used the glitter and acetate technique...with a twist! I stamped my dandelion/music stamp on acetate with black Stazon ink. I ran the image through my Xyron and then applied some Art Insititute Glitter to the adhesive. Both stamps are from the Clearly Beautiful Cardinal set from Prickley Pear.

Papers are from The Girls' Paperie, flowers are from Prima, punch is from SU! and butterfly is from Martha Stewart.

Baby Girl!

It's been a while since I made a round card...and this one just fell right together....gotta love it when that happens!

and the winner gets to choose 3 digistamps.

For my card, I used a new cardinal image from Faith at Designed2Delight. I framed my cardinal with a Nestibilities Labels 5 die. I glittered the edge with Art Institute Pearl glitter for a touch of snow!! I used a Nestibilitie snowflake die and a Martha Stewart snowflake punch to add some additional snow to my creation. Designer paper is BasicGrey, Ribbon is May Arts.

Two Paper Embroidery Cards

I've been on a roll over the weekend...lots of cards to share this week! These are a few that I did using Paper Embroidery and DMC metallic floss. The patterns are from a book by Design Originals on Paper Embroidery. The stitches are long, and they really don't take long to stitch up!

For the first one I layered my star over a Martha Stewart punched panel. The designer paper is from Paper Pizazz and has been around here for YEARS! ...'bout time I pulled it out of the drawer and used it! I really like it in this application.

This is a gate fold card, the star panel is attached on the left and the Peaceful Wishes sentiment (SU!) is attached on the right.

This image I stitched on a panel that had been embossed with the Cuttlebug Holly embossing folder. Designer paper is BasicGrey and sentiment is from the Ornamental Holiday set from The Rubber Cafe. I kept the card design simple so the focus could be the stitching!

Two Holiday Cards!

I played along with the Virtual Stamp Night over on SCS...and have had fun making a bunch of cards...sometimes having a time limit helps my brain work in a different way!!

For my first card I used images from The Rubber Cafe's Christmas Tidings set. I colored the holly with Copic Markers. I warmed up the white cardstock with some Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and faux stitching.

Happy Holidays is stamped in one of the labels from the Card Labels set. I colored the frame with Copic markers.

This card popped together quickly...I had two of the three stars from the Ornamental Holiday set already on my desk from an earlier project....so I added another, some silver embroidery floss and you have an elegant holiday card!

The sentiment is from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.

This little cutie is the Free Digital of the week....check out the details of the challenge here so that you can qualify for next week's freebie!! I colored my image with Copic markers and accented the halo and stars with a Spica Glitter pen. Ovals are Marvy punches. Designer Paper is October Afternoon and the ribbon is vintage seam binding. I wrapped up my non-traditional holiday card like a gift!

Fred She Said Cardinal for Sketch Saturday #128

Loved this sketch from Sketch Saturday week #128, and was itching to use my new Beaded Oval Nestabilities.

The image I used is the Cardinal from Fred, She Said. It comes pre-colored or plain. I chose to color this image with Copic Markers, using the pre-colored version as my inspiration. I do love to color...it is so relaxing!

Other items on this card include Happy Winter by A Muse and snowflake punches by Martha Stewart. The designer papers are by My Mind's Eye.

Be sure to stop by my blog tomorrow....the Fred, She Said design team is hosting a blog hop, and you won't want to miss it!!

Prickley Pear and Card Patterns #89

I loved this sketch from the Card Patterns Challenge Blog. I decided it was the perfect sketch for these images from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.

This image is the JacoBean Heart 2, which I stamped on acetate with Stazon ink. I used Art Institute Glitters to color my hearts. (119. Cranberry, 198. Green Briar, 99. Juicy Fruit, 162. Just Peachy)

I used a new Creatabilities die for the ribbon embellishment with vintage seam binding. Designer paper is from October Afternoon's Very Merry collection.

Happy Fall Y'all with Designed2Delight!

Just loving this image from Faith at Designed2Delight. This image is in the Scarecrow Teddy set which is chuck full of fun fall images!

I colored this image with Copic markers and then framed it using the Nestabilities Labels Five dies. I used some Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap Distress Inks to age it a little. Flowers are by prima and flourishes are by Creatables. The straw ribbon stuff has been in my stash for probably 15 years....but I don't toss much....and remembered I had it and thought it fit the feel of this card.
Hope you're having a fabulous fall!! I'm almost done raking...and have the blisters to prove it!!

MMSC79 with JacoBean Hearts from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps!

Second post for today....the glue is finally dry!! I just received this JacoBean Heart 2 stamp in the mail today from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. There are actually three versions of this heart and flower...methinks I'm going to be needing to get the other two!!

I used the fun sketch from Midnight Madness Challenge Blog for my card. I used the Glitter and Acetate technique with Art Institute Glitters to color my images. Hearts are layered on white cardstock and popped up with foam tape for added dimension.

HINT: With this technique you can reverse the direction of the image....which I did to add a bit of additional interest.

A Pair of Prickley Pear Bird Cards!

I've had these birds from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps on my mind this week. The Sketched Blue Jay was colored with Copic Markers and distressed with Tim Holtz Tea Bag Distress Ink.
I used Nestibilities Labels Five to frame my image.

I used Nestibilities Fancy Tags to frame my sentiment which comes from the Clearly Beautiful Cardinal Set.

Other items on this card include Heidi Grace designer paper and glitter flower. Martha Stewart Snowflake punch and some Creatables dies that I picked up at The Stamp Shoppe in Schofield this weekend.

I'm entering this card in the Caardvark's Holiday Die Cut Challenge. It is not a traditional holiday card...but it celebrates the season of peace and is full of beautiful die cuts!!

For this card I used a transparency from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. This one is from a sheet called Birds and Flourishes. It was a summery one..but I converted it to a winter card!

I used some BasicGrey rub-ons over the summery flowers on the transparency. I added a few snowflakes and sentiment from the Clearly Beautiful Cardinals set with black Stazon ink.

I used the Xyron to attach the transparency to some BasicGrey Nook and Pantry Collection desinger paper.

Other items on this card include Martha Stewart punches and SU! and Sizzix embossing folders.

Paper Embroidery, MMSC78 and The Rubber Cafe!

I've still got paper embroidery on my brain, so I decided to add it to my submission for the Midnight Madness Challenge #78 this week.

I chose a double star pattern from my Design Originals Embroidery on Paper book. I used two strands of DMC gold metallic thread to stitch my star. I thought the star stitching was a fun interpretation of the fiber addition on the MMSC sketch.

I embossed the fabulous star from The Rubber Cafe's Ornamental Holiday set. The addition of the gems really makes the card pop! Thanks for the fun ladies....I had a very relaxing morning putting this together!!

It's Tuesday...and time for another challenge from the Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog! This week our challenge was to use a frame in some way, shape or form for our project.

It's been a while since I used my Cuttlebug Plus embossing folders....so I grabbed the oval one and decided to frame one of the roses that I cut out the other night from Designed2Delight. I love having a pile of flowers cut out and ready to pop on a card!

Other items on this card include Nestibilities Labels die; which I pierced, SU! sentiment, Martha Stewart butterfly punch and vintage seam binding. The frame is popped up on foam tape for added dimension.

We hope you can join us! Robyn's Fetish is our sponsor this week....check it out here!

Prickley Pear - Magic of the Season

Today's cards features images from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. I used the Winter Post image as my focal point. I stamped the All Hearts sentiment on vintage sheet music and colored it with my Copic Y93 and edged it with Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. Images from Prickley Pear come in both mounted and unmounted options.

I went for a vintage feel, using designer papers from Cosmo Cricket's Jolly by Golly collection. I added some Frayed Burlap distress ink and faux stitching. Photo corners are run through the Cuttlebug Textile embossing folder for a vintage pressed tin feel.

Other items on this card include the new Martha Stewart Vine Border punch, May Arts ribbon,
snowflake die cuts, and SU! five petal flower punches. (I used vintage sheet music and tinted it green with my Copic YG93.) I used a Nestibilities Labels Four die that has been run through the Cuttlebug Branches embossing folder for added dimension.
