      CropStop Copic Mini-Tutorial #4

      Today I'm sharing a mini-tutorial I prepared for CropStop.

THANKS! Coupon Code CTMP-01 saves my readers 10%!

This card uses the Heartfelt Creations Dutch Iris Medley set. I colored my image with the Copic Markers below.

As I was coloring this set....I inadvertently went outside of the lines a bit on my iris stem.

I was planning to fussy cut this image anyway....but it was the perfect situation to show you a COPIC TRICK!

You can use your Copic Colorless Blender 0 to push the ink back inside of the lines!

See the results below!! It's like magic!!

Also, as I was coloring, my green marker ran dry. So I decided to do a quick little photo tutorial to show you just how quick and easy it is to refill these markers!!

Be sure to cover your work area...I usually do this over my Inkssentials Craft Sheet, but for this photo I covered that with white cardstock. You can simpy pull the chisel tip out of the pen.

It's a simple as that! I love the fact that I can replace the tips when they get old....and I can refill them to my hearts content and just go right on coloring!

I hope you enjoyed these mini-tutorials. Next month I will be providing four more tutorials as CropStop focuses on Copic Markers!

      Be Joyful!

I've not had time to do this image from Flourishes' Beauty Within set up with glitter and acetate yet. It was worth the wait!

I stamped the image with Stazon ink on acetate. On the reverse side of the image, I colored the acetate with the Copic Markers shown below.

Next I ran the image through the Xyron machine and covered the back with silver glitter. I used Spellbinders Labels Thirteen dies to frame my image.

Just a reminder....the One Crazy Stamper challenge this month is flowers! If you have time, join us for the fun! There is a generous gift certificate to One Crazy Stamper for a random participant. Good Luck!!

      Vintage Treasures

This week's challenge at The Rubber Cafe is Polka Dots! I had this Vintage Treasures set on my mind....so my polka dots are very muted.

The background paper has sublte polka dots and the butterfly is stamped on some polka dot designer paper. I echoed the polka dot theme with the embellishments in the center of my ribbon roses.

Have you been following the Rubber Cafe Blog?! Melissa just posted a fun video showing some great uses for the Scrap Happy Sheer Glue. I'm definately going to have to give some of them a try!

      A Pink Poppy!

On this gray and dreary day I'm sharing a card full of pretty little things.

I stamped my Inked Poppy image from The Rubber Cafe with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored it with Copic Markers. I fussy cut the image and mounted it with foam tape on the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Rectangle.

My sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations. I framed it with the corner brackets from the Spellabinders Fleur De Lis Accents set.

The designer paper is from Lasting Impressions.

      Hellebores Trio ~ Lenten Roses

I can honestly say I've never heard of the Hellebores/Lenten Roses until Tracey-Lynn posted the set in the Fred, She Said Store. Never mind though....they are flowers and they are gorgeously pre-colored...so true to form, I had to print a bunch of the different colors out and then, what to do but make a set of cards?!

I paired up these beautiful images with a verse from Wordsworth, a SU! embossing folder and a beautiful Martha Stewart Deep Edge Scroll Heart Trim punch. You can get yours at CropStop...and my readers can use coupon code CTMP-01 to save 10% on their entire order! Better yet...orders over $35 (US) have FREE SHIPPING as well! Canada and other countries have different limits for the free shipping. You can check them out HERE.

This final card uses some SU! ribbon and a sentiment stamp from A Muse.

These images also come in a form that you can color yourself in whatever manner you wish. I just love having options!!

Do YOU love Fred, She Said images?! There is still time to apply for the design team!

Check out all of the details here....I can tell you Tracey-Lynn is a sweetie to work with!

      Crop Stop Copic Tips

Today I'm sharing two cards I made for Crop Stop featuring Copic markers and Loralie Designs' Lena Ballerina. My brunette Lena is colored on Copics X-press it cardstock. The colors blend very smoothly!

My blone Lena Ballerina I colored on Georgia Pacific 110# cardstock.

Tip #1: When coloring with Copic markers, make sure you keep a piece of scrap paper under your image. This allows the color to move on your cardstock and protects your table top from any bleedthrough.

Tip #2: Be sure to use the right papers and inks when using Copic markers. Memento inks are great to use with Copic markers because they do not bleed or feather.

For my cards today I used Georgia Pacific 110# cardstock that I buy at Sam's Club and the Copic X-press it cardstock. When coloring, the Copic paper definately has a smoother feel and the colors blend more easily.

For my ballerina's eyes, I colored them with the lighter copic color and left a tiny white speck just to the left of the center of her pupil. Then I colored the pupil with a darker shade of the same tint. I could have used black, but I didn't want them to appear that harsh.

I will be posting more Copic tips next week...and throughout the month of May for CropStop.

Please remember to use the 10% coupon for my blog readers, CTMP-01 when you order from CropStop! There are always new things popping into the store....check them out!!

      Digital Tuesday ~ Pretty Punches!

It's my week to choose the Digital Tuesday Challenge...and my challenge is to use punches on your projects!

I chose to use the Blue Blossom Kit set from Tracey-Lynn at Fred, She Said Digital Designs.

I printed the designer paper out in the 3x5 inch size and then pieced the background. For the flowers, I printed the pre-colored set out in the 5x7 inch size. I folded each petal and some of the leaves over my craft knife blade for some added dimension.

I made a butterfly out of one of the flowers by omitting a petal, adding some antennae and a few nailheads for the body.

I used the Martha Stewart Cherry Blossom punch to border my card. I used a die from the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Accents set to frame my sentiment. The sentiment is from Printworks. The glitter brads are from SU!

We hope you play along...this is a fun challenge....a great excuse to dust off those punches you have in your drawers! Please post your work HERE...one lucky winner will receive some free images!! Good Luck!

      Inked Poppy ~ Fabric Challenge

I'm LOVING this Inked Poppy image from The Rubber Cafe! This week the challenge is to use fabric on our cards.

I have had this adhesive fabric ribbon from Making Memories in my stash for a few years now. I love the color combination....and I finally decided it was time to stop hoarding it and use it!

I colored my image with the Copics shown below. I raided my paper scrap bin and came up with this perfectly matching designer paper from KI Memories.

A touch of doodling and a simple white ribbon finishes my card.

Please join us for the challenge....one lucky winner will be reeiving a Gift Certificate to The Rubber Cafe!! It just might be your lucky week!

      Puppy in Pink!

Today I'm sharing a precious Spring Has Sprung pup from Stampavie! I always think of puppies as brown for some reason....but I decided to make this one resemble a black and white pup. I colored my pup with the Warm Grays and the other colors shown in the photo below. I used the Decorative Oval Window Die (Spellbinders/Heartfelt Creations) to frame my image, which I cut out with the Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large Die. Designer papers are from my scrap drawer, prima flowers and adhesive pearls finish my design. I'm submitting this for the icopic design team call...it's definately pretty in pink!

Let's Hear It For The Guys!

Today's challenge on the Designed2Delight blog is "Let’s Hear it for the Guys- Today is Husband Appreciation Day! In our card stashes, male cards are often few and far between! This week, let’s create for the guys in our life…husbands, fathers, brothers, sons, etc.

I went with Faith's new set called Birthday Brew! While most will go with this being an alcoholic brew....I went with the rootbeer sort of brew! We were just telling my son about the frosty glasses they used to bring out at A&W when we were kids! I haven't been there in years, but the memory is a great one! We were at Chili's recently and they serve up their bottled root beer with a frosty glass!

I colored my image with Copic markers and then added some translucent glitter for the frost on my glass! I colored and fussy cut the froth and candle, popping them up on foam tape for dimension.

I used BasicGrey's Archaic collection with chocolate truffle cardstock from Archiver's for my papers. A touch of doodling and a few buttons finished my card. The inside sentiment will be ...just for you!

      Endless Creations Card Duo

Today I'm sharing two cards using images from Endless Creations! I love KB's Birthday Cake and Be Happy sentiment....they make me happy! I colored the image with Copic Markers: R85, R83, R81, E49, E47, Y38 and punched it out with the pink Marvy Oval Punch. I used a tracing tool to make a 1/4 inch border. Designer paper is from BasicGrey's Life of the Party Collection and I paired it up with SU!'s Blushing Bride and Archiver's Chocolate Truffle cardstocks. I tied SU!'s linen thread around my card for a present-like touch. One more card with this Daisy Swirl Reverse/Lg and Daisy Swirl images. Again, the images are stamped in chalk ink for a muted matte effect. Flowers are by Imaginisce, buttons are vintage. Die cut is Creatables by Marianne Designs. (I got mine at The Stamp Shoppe, in Schofield, WI)

If you are interested in purchasing any of these images, you can contact Beth at Endless Creations or Heidi at The Stamp Shoppe in Schofield, WI.

Copic Tutorial #2 ~ More Tips!

Today I'm sharing another Copic Tutorial for Crop Stop! I recently purchased the Daisy Patch Bouquet image by Heartfelt Creations.
I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then used some of the new Copic markers to color my image. You can click on each image to read the steps I used to color this image.

As you can see...I didn't bother staying in the lines when I colored this image...I can get the image colored much more quickly and it's easier to blend this way. I planned to fussy cut this

I have LOTS of ribbon in my stash...but sometimes I just don't have the one I wish I had! A great idea is to take a white one or a light colored ribbon and color it with your Copic Marker. In this instance, I had this pretty white Sheer Satin Band ribbon, so I simply ran my Copic Marker down it and now I have a perfectly coordinating ribbon!
And since I do like Dew Drops, but I don't own every bottle in the store (yet....wink!), I used the same idea and chose some white/light dew drops and colored them to match my project with my Copic Marker. The easiest way to color these is to put them on your glue dot and then color them. I use my craft knife to then transfer them to my project.

A few reminders for you....join in the fun on the CropStop Challenge Blog for a chance to win a generous prize!

If you are in the mood to shop...please feel free to use the Coupon Code CTMP-01 to save 10% on your order!!

      Digital Tuesday ~ Little Women

Today's Digital Tuesday Challenge theme is *Little Women.* We are to use a girly image on our creation.

Today I'm using a Loralie Art Stamp set called Lena Ballerina that I received from CropStop. I colored my image with Copic markers. I colored some of the flowers from this set and did some fussy cutting to embellish my corner punches.

The designer paper is a freebie called Pink and Mellow from Fred, She Said Designs. I layered my paper on some coated ivory and pink cardstocks. I dug in my gem scrap bin...and fashioned my gem swirls.

      Bernadette Admiring The Spring Flowers

Phew....today it was pretty warm here...unseasonably so...and with it we had some wicked weather. Thankfully all is well...and we're all happy to wait more patiently for the warmer temps...preferably without the *weather!*

For this month's One Crazy Stamper challenge the theme is flowers! I chose to use this happy Stampavie image today called Bernadette Admiring the Spring Flowers. I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored her with the Copics in the photo below. The designer papers I used were from the Tickled Pink 6x6 collection from My Mind's Eye. I used Spellbinders Labels Four dies and Fleur De Lis Accents for my card. The sentiment is by Hero Arts, flowers by Prima. We hope you can join us this month for our Flowery challenge! There is a generous gift certificate on the line for one lucky participant! May it be YOU! Good luck!!

      Springtime!

This week's challenge at The Rubber Cafe is Easter/Spring. I chose to go with spring!! We pulled the bikes out of storage and have our first 10 miles in for the season! Too bad the sun didn't shine and it didn't get quite as warm as they said it would...maybe next weekend!

I chose the beautiful Iris image. I have to say that I never can wait until mine start to bloom! They are peeking out of the ground....so where there is life, there is hope! I colored my image with Copic Markers and used Spellbinders oval dies to frame it. I used the Copic Airbrush to shade my sky. Springtime is one of the four season sentiments. For the background I stamped the Iris image repeatedly in a coodinating ink for some subtle detail. I used a Spellbinders border die and a few gems to finish my card.

We hope you can play along....show us your spring cards! See the challenge details here....there is a $10 gift certificate on the line for a lucky participant. Then you can go get your Iris image!

      Laugh In The Sunshine!

Isn't it funny how when the sun is shining it's so easy to see summer coming?! When it's gloomy I seem to think more about how winter just won't leave! The sun is shining today!! I made a collage with several Prickley Pear images in a soft color palette.

I used watercolor paper for this card. I inked a clear stamp block with Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I spritzed it with water and stamped it over the music images from the Clearly Beautiful Flower Stamp Set which I had embossed with clear embossing powder.

I stamped the flower image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored it with Copic Markers.

I stamped the dragonfly from the Clearly Beautiful Dragonfly Stamp Set on Metallic blue paper with Stazon ink.

Several gems finish my card. Happy Spring!!
