Inky Antics Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Inky Antics Binding System Blog Hop! The Inky designers are featuring projects made with the CarlaCraft Binding System.  If you're hoppin' with us, you’ve just arrived from Keri's blog. Here is my project...

This was my first time using this binding system, and I have to say twirling those little spirals in is a hoot!  The punch was very easy to use, and Jackie's video explains everything you need to know!

I used a variety of Inky Antics products to dress up my note pads.  I used the cover of a pretty shoe box for the two covers on the right.  I *knew* I saved that cover for something!  My 9 year old son decorated up himself a cover today...very fun for kids to do too!

The lucky winner’s name will be announced on the Inky Antics blog next Monday, so remember to stop back and see if you’ve won.

Masculine Card Duo!

Today I'm sharing some cards made entirely with Bo Bunny's Timepiece Collection from One Crazy Stamper.  I am in need of some masculine cards...and this paper pack immediately came to mind.

I combined some vintage buttons and vintage seam binding with some faux stitching for my embellishments.
Using your coordinating papers to make a beautiful set of cards is a fun way to use up scraps and stock up your card collection!

Rubber Cafe Card Trio ~ Birthday and More!

I had so much fun last week with the Asian Floral set from The Rubber Cafe...I kept right on playing with it for this week and have three more cards to share with you!

For my first card, I changed up the color scheme and stamped the images tone on tone, and accenting each with coordinating markers.  I pretty much kept this one monochromatic.  I fussy cut out one flower and one dragonfly.  The dragonfly is accented with a touch of glitter.

I used the beautiful Imagine sentiment, which makes this card fit in perfectly for this week's Rubber Cafe Challenge which is birthday cards.  Happy birthday to me tomorrow!  My age shall remain a secret!!
I have seen images colored in shades of brown or grey...and decided to give it a whirl with this image.  I liked the effect, and went with a bold and striking color combo for this card which could maybe be used for a sympathy or get well card.  A touch of piercing and distressing were my only embellishments.
And finally for this card, if you know me at all, you know I love to use up every last thing I stamp...and so I used up the strip of green background paper that I created last week and simply changed the layout and color scheme a bit.  This card could be used for an anniversary or other life step moment.  I used a bit of faux stitching and piercing to finish my card.

I hope this card trio has given you a bit more inspiration using this gorgeous Asian Floral stamp set.
We hope you pop by and join our challenge!!

A Floral Card Trio

Whoot!  It's a gorgeous summer day today!!  Started it out with an 18 mile bike ride with my hubby...kids are spending the weekend with their grandparents....so I'm off to play in my real flowers for a bit!!

Thought I'd share some of the fun stuff that I've been gardening with indoors!  I am sneeking one more tulip image in....it is the gorgeously pre-colored Tulip Bouquet set from Fred, She Said Designs.  I framed it with Spellbinders' Fleur De Lis die.  I fussy cut the image and popped it up on foam tape for a touch of dimension.  A few Martha Stewart butterfly punches and pink pearls were my finishing touches.
This card came together with some bits and pieces I had on my desk.  The pricking frame from the Spring Flowers and Paper Pricking set was leftover from my previous FSS printing....and I have myself a nice little bin of FSS flowers that are all cut out and ready for a project someday....so I just dug out some pretty Faux Foldy blue flowers and leaves....ta-daa....quick card!
Finally, for this card I printed the Sentimental Doodle Dallion Flower set on designer paper and then accented it with Copic Markers.  I accented my design with copper nailheads, glitter dots and some vintage seam binding.

Be sure to check out Tracey's beautiful store....whether you like to color or just use the beautifully pre-colored images....she has both options available!  Enjoy your weeked!

Owl Trio - Prickley Pear

Today I'm sharing a second card...a Clean And Simple design featuring some Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  The images on this card are from the Clearly Beautiful Birdcage stamp set.

I colored my branch image directly with my markers before spritzing it with Shimmerz Spritz in Baby's Breath.  I paper pieced my owls using scraps that coordinated with BasicGrey's Hopscotch Collection.  The owls are popped up on foam tape.

Summer?!

Summer, schmummer!  Not sure where the summer weather is in Wisconsin this year...but I'm still pretending it's spring so I can share beautiful tulip card.

I used the Spring Flowers and Paper Pricking Frame images from Fred, She Said Designs.  I used the pre-colored image because it perfectly matches the BasicGrey Sweet Threads designer paper.  I added paper pricking, glitter, gems and butterfly punches to embellish my card, which measures 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches.

Inspired by Ice Cream!

Happy Tuesday!  This week's Digital Tuesday Challenge is to make a card based on your favorite flavor of ice cream!  I'm the boring sort....it's vanilla for me!   My card is inspired by Vanilla ice cream with a strawberries and an Oreo cookie on the side!

For my card I used Cosmo Cricket's Chemistry Collection and the Fresh Cut image from Designed2Delight.  I colored my image with the following compic markers:
R29, R27, R22, E49, E41, Y32, Y21, YG17, YG03.  The image is printed on white cardstock, the scalloped die is in ivory cardstock.  I love the creamy combination!

Runaway Cake!

I'm posting for One Crazy Stamper today with an adorable image from Your Next Stamp called Runaway Cake!  This image just makes me grin and it seems to fit me...the cardmaker who is *always* last minute with my cards!  No excuses...I just want to make the *perfect card* and with that intent I often flub up and am late or forget!  Silly me!
I used the following Copic markers to color my image:  E49, E47, E44, E43, E42, T4, T2, BG15, BG10, R39, R21, R20, YR16, Y38 and BasicGrey's Sweet Threads Collection.  I used Terrifically Tacky Tape to smoosh my ribbon to.

Summertime With The Rubber Cafe

This is my second post today...if you are here to CropStop Hop...scroll down here.

It's almost summertime and we're celebrating at The Rubber Cafe!  Our challenge this week is to make a card that reflects summer!

I chose to go with images from the Asian Floral set.  I stamped the floral image on the cardstock in coordinating ink and then accented it with a coordinating Copic marker.

I colored and fussy cut one of the flower images as well as the dragonflies.  The dragonflies are accented with Spica Glitter Pens and shown below.
I kept my card clean and simple which is what this set seems to me.  I hope it makes you think of summertime!

Please join us for our challenge....check out the rules and the prize information on the Rubber Cafe Blog.

Today I'm sharing a card featuring Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps images.  I have a mother-in-law who sews....so she'll be getting some of these cards!

I used the Old Fashioned Sewing Machine, which I colored with Copic Spica Glitter Pens for a subtle touch of color and shine.  I paired it with the Threads of Friendship sentiment.

Other items on this card include a Spellbinders Fleur De Lis die, vintage buttons, Prima roses, gold embroidery floss and some tiny beads.  I distressed my die cut panel with Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain Distress Inks before taking it from the die.  Designer paper is BasicGrey Sweet Threads.

I'm excited to share that I'm now designing for McMahon Five Designs!  You may have seen this name floating around on my blog because Sue carries Shawne's Studio 313 Designs images in her store.  She carries a wide variety of designs that I look forward to sharing with you in addition to Shawne's great images.  Be sure to check out the McMahon Five blog today to see samples of all of the newly released images and cutting files!
I used an image from the Studio 313 Modern Flowers Green Tea set and the Modern Flower - Bright Retro digital designer paper from the Studio313 release.

Prickley Pear Sketch Challenge!

Welcome to Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp's new monthly sketch challenge!  Check out all of the challenge information and inspiration on the Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp's Blog.   I can tell you that you have until the end of them month to play along for a fabulous prize.....a clear set AND the coordinating die for one random winner!

I chose to go vintage with my take on the sketch!  I chose the Old Fashion Sewing Machine and the
Threads of Friendship images for my card.

I stamped my image on white cardstock and cut it out with a circle Spellbinder's die.  I then distressed the circle with Tim Holtz's Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and layered it onto a scalloped circle Spellbinder's die.  I hand stitched a delicate frame with pink embroidery floss and accented my frame with adhesive pearls.

I used the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Accents die for my border strip.  I cut off all but one of the Fleur De Lis accents to fit the sketch and accented it with pearls.

What better to use for designer paper than BasicGrey's Sweet Threads collection, prima flowers and vintage buttons.  My sewing machine is accented with Spica Glitter Pens.

Happy Tuesday!  Our challenge this week on the Digital Tuesday Challenge blog is Garden Inside and Out!

I chose a fun new image from Faith at Designed2Delight.  You just may want to check that link out ASAP!! *wink!*

My photo turned out funky tonight...and I apologize.  It is actually chocolate truffle cardstock with some beautiful designer paper from Girls' Paperie.  I cut my image out with a circle Spellbinders die and then layered it on a Spellbinders Labels One die.  I fancied up  my corners with the SU! photo corner punch and added a spot of vintage seam binding and a few Martha Stewart butterflies.

This image reminds my of my Mom's backyard....no joke....it's such a beautiful happy place!!

Please be sure to check out the challenge information.....Spesch is our sponsor this week and a lucky participant will receive some goodies!!  Hope it's YOU!

Elegant Wedding Wishes

This week's challenge at The Rubber Cafe is right up my aisle!  We were challenged to make a wedding or anniversary card.  I love making white or nearly white cards.   The first image that popped into my head was Solid Leaf Spray, and what better for a wedding card than the Congratulations!

I stamped the Solid Leaf Spray in Versamark ink on ecru cardstock and then used clear embossing powder.  I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink and then used fine line gold embossing powder.

My finishing touches are Prima flowers and some Tim Holtz Vintage Ribbon. For more beautiful inspiration, be sure to visit The Rubber Cafe blog all week long!  We'd love to see your creation and you just might win the random prize!!
