Draw Me A Day Dream Newsboy Cards!

Today I have a few cards using the Pa's Paper image from Ryan's Draw Me A Daydream line with McMahon Five Designs.  This is such a perfect image for a masculine birthday card!

This image is the colored with Copic Markers and then is fussy cut and paired up with papers from Simple Stories collections.  Check out the fun Antiqued Newsprint Candi embellishments.

This is another version featuring papers from another Simple Stories' collection.

Both my brother and I are thankful for all who have purchased his images this year...both through McMahon Five Designs as well as his line through The Stamp Shoppe in Schofield, WI!
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Live, Dance, Laugh

Today's card features an image from Whipper Snapper stamps as well as 10102J Live Dance Laugh from Inky Antics.  I paired the images up with some glitter flowers from Prima and a Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch.

The background was a fun one!  I sprayed the liner from a sticky tape sheet that I had cut for another purpose with Color Shine and then *stamped* it onto white cardstock.  I got this very fun glimmery background!  I love it!  Such a *happy* card!  Thanks for stopping by!

Two Birds With Holly Take 2 - Vintage!

Ooh, I just love the HH0153 Two Birds With Holly image from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  I couldn't resist making another card with this imae and going more vintage this time around!

This time I paired the image up with Prima's North Country Collection and a rosette that I fashioned from a vintage zipper from my Grandma's stash!    I colored the image with more muted Copic Marker colors.

This image is perfect for any winter occasion; New Year, Anniversary or even Thinking Of You!

Outside Frozy, Inside Cozy!

I have a pair of winter cards for you today.  The first one features a soft winter scene...I think maybe it was a Stampin Up! image.  I do know that it was the Chalk Pop Technique.  The image was stamped in Versamark and then rubbed with chalk to add color.  It's been here on the sidelines for a while for a while...and today was the day to pop it on a card!    I pierced a border around the image to frame it.
The second card is a mixture of snowflakes...stickers, dies, punches, stamps and an embossing folder!  The Happy Holidays is from Stampers' Anonymous and is from a Tim Holtz set.  Lots of glitter and shimmer and acetate!

Stay cozy, y'all!

Sketch 043 ~ Peace, Joy and Love!

Today I have a new sketch challenge for you from From The Heart Stamps!

I changed up the border widths a bit on this one...as I did not want a square card...but did tuck my image panel under the banner a bit and added a few fun embellishments to finish off this clean and simple card.

Image: Peace Joy Love
Copic Markers:  R29, W7, E27, Y38, YG17, BG10, BG0000.

Be sure to stop by the FTHS blog to see what the other girls came up with and play along for your chance to win!!

Cakes!

Today's card is for MarkerPOP featuring a Sherri Baldy My-Besties image called Cakes.    I colored the image with Copic Markers.
I paired the image up with My Mind's Eye's Memorable Collection, some Candi Dots and a homemade crocheted flower I've been hoarding for a good long while!  I should really crack out the crochet thread this winter....but somehow coloring always wins out! *wink!*
It is fun to spotlight an image with the out-of-the-box technique where you cut around portions of the image around an imaginary *box* that is smaller than your image.  I distressed the edge of my white box on this card.

Let It Snow!

Last night we were headed to Wausau for a funeral...and we got our first taste of sticking snow for the season!  It was beautiful as it fell under the street lights and balanced on the tree branches!  We drove out of it again on the way home....but it's inching closer and closer to our area!

Today's pair of cards feature an older Hero Arts image:  3260H Warm and Cold that is a perennial favorite.  For this card the snowman is colored with Copic Markers and then embellished with white gel pen dots.  It is a shaker card that was really easy to make using pre-cut frames from The Paper Cut.  I added a bit of bakers' twine, some Martha Stewart snowflake punches and Candi Dots.
This card uses another pre-cut frame from The Paper Cut...this time I did the Glitter and Acetate technique.  It is another fun way to add glitter to your winter cards without getting it all over your recipient's home!

Sympathy Cards

Seasons come and seasons go...it seams right now it is a season of sympathy among our friends.  Sympathy cards are often thought to be difficult cards to make, and maybe they are...I personally find the expression of the feelings of my heart the hardest part.  There are feelings of sympathy as earthly ties are cut, feelings of joy for a life well-lived and feelings of hope and comfort as well.

This first card is one that uses stamps from Inkadinkadoo and Prickley Pear.  I kept the color palette soft and added faux stitching and prima flowers for my embellishments.
This one uses a more masculine color palette and features images from Stampers Anonymous' Tim Holtz collection and sentiment by Stampendous.  I added distressing, distress inks, faux stitching and candi to this card.

Wild Rose Studio and Inky Impressions

It's Michelle here today for MarkerPOP! I have had a crazy week...but I have a few happy little cards to share with you.  Sometimes you need a card quick...and simple is not always bad!

For my first card I used images from Wild Rose Studio.  The image is from CS328 Elsie and Mouse and the sentiment is from CL278 Bella With Bouquet.  This image is colored with waterbased markers/ink pads that were scribbled or dabbed onto acetate.  Then I used a 0 Copic Blender Pen to watercolor the inks onto the image.

And I could not resist making another card with this adorable image from Inky Impressions.
I stamped Sammy Making Snow Angels and colored him with Copic Markers:  R89, R29 R27, E49, E47, E44, W7, W5, W3, BG10.

I added some faux stitching to this image and distressed the edge with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  I flocked the hat and boot trims and added glitter to the snow details.

Hunting Cards and MORE!

It's almost upon us in Wisconsin...Deer Hunting Season!  I have a cute little image from McMahon Five Designs from my brother's Draw Me A Daydream line, meet the Mighty Hunter!
There are a pile of sentiments with this set...so you can change it up for the occasion!
Also releasing is his Presently Christmas set which also has a pile of sentiments.  The photo doesn't show it well...but I glittered the package and glossy accented the bow...very cool in real life!
This is a card idea using the original sketch version...but you get the idea.
And finally, here is a card using the pre-colored version of the image.    Thanks for stopping by!

Couture Creations - An Apple A Day...

Today I'm sharing a card using all things Couture Creations for CropStop!  The embossing folder is Exotic and is embossed on Core'dinations cardstock which I then hit with a sanding block to bring out the embossing.

The large die is CO723050 Fleur-De Frame and the apple die is Apple Cider from the Endless Dreams Collection.

To get the apple, I applied Fired Brick distress ink direct to paper.
Next I applied Glitzin Glamour in red to the inked cardstock liberally with my finger.  I die cut the apple after the panel dried.

Final embellishments are Couture Creations' self adhesive pearls.

New HoneyPOP Cards!

Today I'm sharing some fun new HoneyPOP cards for Inky Antics!   This first card uses the 11195MC Snowball Penguin set and White HoneyPOP paper.
Gotta love the snowball inside!  I grounded the inside images with a strip of glittery stickles!
The second card features the 11194MC Magic Snowy set and Black HoneyPOP paper.
Check out the fun new element on the inside of this card....a ribbon around the brim of his hat!  How stinkin' cute is that?!  Again, I used stickles to ground the images on the inside of this card.

Designer papers are by Darcie's Papers.

Prickley Pear Tutorial ~ Glitter Galore!

Hello there!  I'm back again with another tutorial for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  Today I took the glittery background to another level....it's now entirely made of glitter, and multiple colors at that!

My first card uses the HH0146 Frosty Headlines image which I simply stamped on designer paper....but here are the steps I did to achieve the eye-popping background:
1.  I had two A2 sized pieces of redline tape sheets, 4.25 x 5.5 inches, one of which I cut with the Cheery Lynn Lattice die.
I removed the liner from the die cut sheet and peeled off one side of the full remaining piece of red line tape.  Press the liner firmly onto the sticky tape with the lining sheet you just removed.
2.  Add the first glitter color, in this case the teal.  Rub the glitter into the tape and then brush off your panel.

3.  Carefully remove the red lattice liner and apply the second color of glitter....in this case silver!  Rub the glitter into the tape to cover the lattice design, brush off your panel and you're done!
Check out that glittery goodness close up!  It is entirely smooth and so very eye-catching!  Here is another card I did using this technique, and three colors of glitter!
This one takes a bit more time as you also have to place the lining pieces over the flower petals.  Glitter the green portion first, then remove the flower petal pieces and glitter brown and finally remove the Daisy Lattice Frame liner and add the red glitter.  I find a sharp tweezers very helpful in placing the liner pieces...and be sure to press them down firmly before you glitter or you will get a bit of bleed-through as I did on this one.
On my second card I used all sorts of images:  CLR031A Poinsettia 2 Holiday Clear Set, D031 Poinsettia Die, CLR022 Pumpkin and Snowman Clear Set, D022 Pumpkin and Snowman Die, GG0094 Collage Pinecone Tag.

Let Heaven and Nature Sing!

This card has to be one of my favorites that I've made recently!   I love the new Prickley Pear release...and flowers are a favorite here on Inspiration Blooms!!

I colored the HH0149 Amaryllis with Copic Markers R22, R21 and R20!!  The sentiment EE0172 Heaven and Nature is stamped on coordinating designer papers.

The bird is from the CLR026 Mini Birds Clear Set and D026 Mini Birds Die...and I cannot tell a lie...I stole that from Heidi's stash when we were stamping together....she had a bunch of birds all colored up...and ready to pop on my card!  How cool is that?! ;)

And for a fun background, I simply colored the amaryllis image in YG93 for a patterned paper effect!

Psst....head on over to the Prickley Pear blog and leave a comment for your chance to win a FREE stamp!

Enjoying The Ride Card Duo!

I have a pair of cards for you today using my brother's images with The Stamp Shoppe.    These are perfect for the fellas in your life that are into Big Boy Toys!

This first card features the Snowmobile image that is colored with Copic markers.  I paired it up with some Washi Tape that I picked up at the Stamp Shoppe and papers from the Studio Calico Snippets Collection.

The sentiment is Enjoying The Ride.

If the weather in your parts is a bit warmer, then this Chopper image might be more your thing.  Again, I used Washi Tapes and Candi Dots to embellish my card.

The Stamp Shoppe is a physical store in Schofield, WI, however you can purchase these images and Heidi's own stamp line online from the Stamp Shoppe Creations blog.

Draw Me A Daydream Flash Back Cards

Today I have two cards featuring my brother's Draw Me A Daydream line with McMahon Five Designs!

The first one features images from the Fisher Fella set.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and then added some shimmer to the fish with Art Anthology Sorbet Dimensional Gel Paint.  I added some Glossy Accents to the bobber for some fun shine.

Papers are from Simple Stories' Summer Fresh collection and I used Candi to embellish my card.

This card features images from the Lil' Monster set.  I added the pencil from his logo on this one, however the set comes without the pencil.

I again colored the image with Copic Markers and then paired it up with papers from Deja Views' Fresh Print Apple collection.  My embellishments on this one are simple, a bit of Washi Tape and some Candi Dots.

Snow Angel Shaker Card

It's my day on the MarkerPOP blog!  Today the leaves were falling like snow from our maple tree, it was gorgeous seeing the yellow leaves fluttering down in the sunlight!  I decided to go with a wintery image and used the Sammy Making Snow Angels image from Inky Impressions.

I colored Sammy up with Copic markers:  R29, R24, BG10, E44, E42, W7, W5.   I used papers from Prima's North Country Collection.

Here you can see that I also added some glittery flock to the tops of his boots and his hat.  I added a bit of the glittery flock in with some vintage glass glitter for the shaker box.

Sketch 41 Necktie Banner

This is one of two posts today, please scroll for a glitter tutorial!
It's time for another From The Heart Stamps sketch challenge!  Here is this week's sketch:

I chose to go with the Necktie Banner image which I colored with Copic Markers:  E87, E84, E81, B97, B95, B93, B91.    I skipped the scalloped layer since I was going with a masculine image and went instead with a chocolate truffle cardstock mat.  I found some masculine paper scraps and made my banners with those.

I added paper embroidery around the medium panel...it took forever, but it is relaxing and I find it soothing to do sometimes when nerves are frayed.  I added a few other touches; a vintage button that looks like a penny and some washi tape strips.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hop on over to the FTHS blog to see the inspiration of the design team.  Add your card to the linky for your chance to win some fun!  Good Luck!

Glitter Tutorial #1 for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps!

I have a card for you today for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps and the first of two glitter tutorials!
My first card uses CLR023A Mini Butterflies 2, D023 Mini Butterflies Die, CLR033 Spring Flourished Ovals, D033 Flourished Oval Die.

This technique involves a sheet of Red Line Tape which I cut into quarters.  I am using a Cheery Lynn Designs Die called FRM118 Daisy Lace Frame.   I cut the tape sheet with my die using the Big Shot and the metal adapter plate that works so dandy with these intricate dies.
Next I popped out all of the pieces leaving just the frame.  Peel off the backing and apply carefully to your cardstock.
Then comes the messy part!  Peel off the redline liner and apply your glitter to the exposed tape!
And then my favorite part...when I can clean up the mess and have an amazing background to create on!
I will leave you with another card using this same die and technique.  It always amazes me what a difference changing a color scheme can make!  With the endless combinations of Prickley Pear images and coordinating dies, there is no end to the fun cards you can come up with!

My second card uses: CLR037 Fall Leaves, D037 Leaf Set Die, CLR023A Mini Butterflies 2, D023 Mini Butterflies Die, CLR012 Flowers and D012 Flowers Die.

I will be back with another amazing glitter technique soon!  I've been busy in the studio today...and I'm glitter from head to toe!  I'm proud to say my dust bunnies wear glitter in this house!  :)
