Hues of Blues

I just love this little image I found online...the colors in the feather are so calming.  I paired the image up with some kraft cardstock and then found a piece of designer paper in a blue watercolor theme.  The twine is actually twine I had wrapped around an acrylic block and stamped with in my String Stamping tutorial.  The blues and browns of the string matched the image perfectly, and the twine was a perfect simple embellishment for this card.  Ha!  Once again I saved something from the garbage to live a new life!
This is another digital image...this time it is the top of a printable calendar I used for 2014.  I could have tossed the monthly calendar images each month, but instead I made this fun modern/fresh winter card.  I added Stampendous Sparkle Dot stickers, a few Martha Stewart snowflake punches.  The border is done with Scor-tape and Silver Medal You're So Fine Glitter, a Scalloped Stampin Up border punch and some foam tape.

Pretty in Pink

Lots of bits and pieces on this card.  The centerpiece is actually a clipping from a magazine.  Loved the color combo on it and the inspiration piece turned into the focal piece!

Card is based on some texured coated cardstock.  The pink pieces are MME from my scrap bins.  The other pieces are all from a bin of fun things that didn't make the cut at one time or another, but grouped together on this card it is a fun collage of happy.  The sentiment is from my Inky Antics Simple Sentiments set 11104MC.
This card includes some acetate pieces that have been floating around here for a while.  I added some fun Stampendous Sparkle Heart stickers that I colored with Copic markers.

The edging is from a Stampin' Up! template that I did paper embroidery on.

Have a Happy Day!

She Believed She Could

Today's card for The Rubber Cafe is another glittery shaker card!

I used the January It's A New Year Kit Of The Month for this card.  I created a shaker box using white cardstock and the designer papers in the kit and foam tape.   I filled the shaker box with the sequins in the kit as well as a dusting of Diamond Clear Cool Highlight You're So Fine Glitter.

I stamped the images and colored them with Copic Markers:  BG23, T6, T4, T2.  I added some accents with the Sakura Stardust Pen.  I used the tape included in the kit to ground my image and frame my sentiment.

The sentiment on the acetate is stamped with Stazon ink.

Rose Thoughts....

It's Wednesday and I have another Fred, She Said card for you featuring the sentiment from the Carnation Plus Bonus Sentiments set.  This time I paired it up with the rose from the Corner Rose set.

I decided to add some paper embroidery to this card, so I used my Stampin Up! template and I also used the Stampin Up! Subtles Candy Dots along my stitched border.

The heart button was in my stash for some time, but is no more!

You Put The Happy In My Day!

It's Tuesday and I have an Endless Creations card to share with you today.  I got on a roll with making these flowers.  I stamped the BB15 Retro Daisy Open on various colors of cardstocks and then accented each one with Copic Markers.  Then I added white Signo gel pen accents to each blossom.  I did hand cut these blossoms out since I do not own the scan n cut machine...but it really doesn't take long and I enjoy such endeavors!

The leaves are from the EE46 KB's Lily of the Valley stamp.  I just colored them up and then cut them apart to create my leafy border.

The sentiment is D211 Happy in my Day.   The embossing folder is from cArt Us.

Hello Snowman!

Hello!  I'm blogging for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps today....and how cute is this happy chap?
The sentiment is from CLR023A Mini Butterflies 2.  I colored HH0106 Pine Cones ATC and  FF0121 Snowman Postage with Copic markers and matted them up.  A touch of faux stitching and some twine finish the card.

Be sure to pop on over to the Prickley Pear blog for some more great inspiration!

Live, Dance, Laugh!

Michelle here with a glittery Valentine card for you today!  I used glitter in two ways on this card and it is really blingy and sparkly in real life.

For the base of my card, I ran Scor-tape around the edge of the cardstock base and then covered it with some Art Institute Red Rose Opaque Glitter.  The embossing folder is from cArt Us and is the perfect contrast for this card.

I stamped the EE0057 Jaco Bean Heart 2 with Stazon ink on acetate.  I then glittered the back of the acetate with Green Briar, Pink Smoothie and Baby's Breath Art Institute Glitters.  I cut the images out and then popped them onto the card with glue dots.

The FF0018 Live, Dance Laugh sentiment is one of my favorites, perfect for birthdays or just thinking of you type days.

Thanks for popping by!  There are new stamps coming soon....so keep your eye on our blog for your first peek of the new release!!

Holly Berry House Revisted

It has been a long while since I made a card with Holly Berry House medallions.  This one I embossed in silver on Certainly Celery cardstock and then accented it with various Copic Markers in green tones.  I added some clear gems to finish the piece.

The embossing folder is from Cuttlebug and is done on white shimmer cardstock.  The pops of green cardstock are some shimmery Bazzill scraps.    Sentiment is typed up on the computer.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Collage Card

Today's card is a whole bunch of nothing!

~The tag is from some clothes...I sewed it on the card with some fun paper embroidery detailing.
~The brad is from some school project the kids brought home and didn't want to keep.
~The buttons are from some craft projects and have been laying around here for eons.
~The music is a scrap of vintage sheet music from my scrap bin.
~The gold designer paper was a tiny scrap from a prior card project.
~The burlap pieces are also scraps frome a prior card....way to fun to toss out.
~And funniest of all is the zipper tab that I picked up on the ground somewhere.

Do you ever make no-stamp cards in this fun collage style?

Something Wonderful!

Ooh, I just love this image from The Rubber Cafe!  It is the add-on set for the January Kit of the Month!

This time around I used paper piecing to color my umbrella.  All of the papers are from the Fancy Pants collection included in the kit.  I colored the image with Copic Markers.

The heart is from the coffee cup in the One Day At A Time set that is included in the kit.  I did add a twine bow on the center of my umbrella to finish the card off.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Daisy Thoughts....

It's time to share a Fred, She Said creation with you!  I just love flowers...any time of year!!
For this card I used the Daisies and Ladybug set.  I fussy cut the image and then trimmed the edges of it off flush with the sides of the card!

The saying is from the Carnation Plus Bonus set that includes several sentiments.

Endless Love....

Today's card is for Endless Creations and features several of their stamps and the Wet Wipe Technique. (dropping Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue and Almost Amethyst reinkers onto a wet wipe to make a homemade *rainbow* ink pad)

I used a scrap of felt that I die cut and embellished with some Stampendous Sparkle Dots.  I used a flower in place of the O in love and white gel pen to accent all of the stamped pieces other than the birds.

Stamps:  CC40 KB's Birds, E252 KB's Open Love, BB15 Retro Daisy Open,

Pretty Posies

Oh, It is just fun when sometimes an idea pops into your head...and that was what happened with this card for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps!  I have some die cut cards here from The Paper Cut and I decide to go monochromatic with the mat and emboss it.  Then I decided to add an embossed panel to the inside of the front panel of the card using the script embossing folder.

What next, but to frame the pretty oval opening with some flowers that I stamped on designer papers and then accented with white gel pen and gems.  Oh, and add a few sequins and butterfly punches too.

I finished my card by stamping the cute little verse on white cardstock and punching it out and distressing the edges.  It is clean, simple and calming...I like!

...Life at Best is Very Brief...

Time to make a few more sympathy cards...always sad to think of the losses death brings.  Thankful for lives well-lived and for a God who makes no mistakes.

This card features burlap papers from DCWV.  Stamps are from Stampin Up, Stampendous and My Sentiments Exactly!  Inks are Frayed Burlap and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink, Copic markers and Memento Ink.  This card features paper embroidery as well.  The leaf is popped up with foam/glue dots for a varied dimensional effect.
Another card using the same sketch and a different color palette.  This card is distressed rather than embroidered.

A Fan-tastic Pair!

I have a pair of cards today that have been in the making for years.  I don't even remember when I stamped these fans..but they are embossed with glitter embossing powders.  I fussy cut them out and added some coordinating nailheads to the fans.  The glass marbles are also something that have been in my bits n bobs bin for quite some time.  Time to go on some scrap paper cards...

Thanks for stopping by ~

Don't Worry....

Awww, such a cut little saying for someone who is stuck in an experience they would rather not be in.
This card uses goodies from The Rubber Cafe's January Kit of the Month.

I used the Glitter and Acetate Technique with a rainbow of pretty You're So Fine Glitters:  Diva Pink, Lilac Purple, Blue Skies and Purple Rocks.  I stamped the umbrella and boots with Stazon on the acetate provided in the kit.  I cut them out after the glitter had dried and then applied them to my Copic colored image with a touch of Scrap Happy Sheer Glue for the boots and Kool Tak Foam Tape for the umbrella.

For my background I applied Salty Ocean Distress Ink to the hearts for a raindrop effect.  I then cut some banner pieces from the yellow designer paper for my sun rays that are peeking out from behind my cloud/sentiment image.  I accented the cloud image with some Sakura Stardust Pen from a prior kit.   My final touch was some faux stitching with a white gel pen and then some sequins from the kit.

Inky Antics CHA Release

CHA is over, but I have some of the cute cards I made for the Inky Antics booth to share from their Animal Antics collection!

My first card features distressing, faux stitching, paper embroidery and sequins!  The images are colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.
This card features a handy card kit from The Paper Cut which made the layering on this one a breeze.  I added some faux stitching, punched paper circles and sequins to finish off this Belated Birthday wish.

I am entering this card in the Design Team Showcase Challenge.

Foxes n Fawns and Background Technique

I have some cards for Inky Antics to share today.  There are times in life when it just is good to reflect on nature and the simplicity of it.  The images are from the Nature's Wonder collection that will be available in the Spring 2015 Release!  All images are colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.
You will notice the background on the first card and the banner on the second card have some interesting texture going on.  I gave String Stamping a shot.
For this technique I wrapped string around an acrylic block.  I then inked up my Peeled Paint Distress Ink Pad really well.  Ink up the *stamp* and then stamp repeatedly on the cardstock in varying positions.  You can go vertically and then horizontally for a fun rustic plaid pattern as well.

Let It Snow!

I have another card calling for some Wisconsin snow for Prickley Pear this week.

I kept it simple and stamped the snowflakes with white Color Box ink on some blue designer paper on one half, and embossed white cardstock with a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the other half.  I separated the halves with a silver stamped strip.  The let it snow is stamped on a shaving cream background scrap I had handy.  I embellished the card further with a silver bobble from Heidi and sequins, my new love!

Musical Notes...

I am in my cleaning off my desk mode...it usually hits after a burst of some sort of creativity.  I had been busy with CHA cards and now as the dust settles I am slowly organizing my desk.  One thing leads to another and then somehow I end up making cards rather than sticking stuff away.

I had a few of these cards laying on my desk with the keyboards all done up.  The keyboard die is from Memory Box I believe...I got it at the Stamp Shoppe.  The guitar pic we found on the floor when we were out and about...and since it was destined for the trash I grabbed it up...I just love the play of colors on this one!

The images are from Prickley Pear:  CC0062 Poppy Bud, sm.   The sentiment is typed.

Here is another version I made up with bits and bobs.

The Best Friends

CHA is upon us...and I have been busy with some booth samples for Inky Antics.   The HoneyPOP cards are always at hit with their interactive 3D HoneyPOP inserts.  This is the adorable 11088MC Chocolate Rabbit HoneyPOP Clear set.
The inside is adorable with the popping chocolate bunny!  I added some fun dimensional grass on this card with my 11102SC Fabulous Flowers HoneyPOP set.  Such a quick and easy way to add dimension and grassy fluff on a card!

A Beautiful Winter Day

I don't know when I remember such a dreary winter....we have had lots of grey days this winter so far...and not much for snow.  I, for one, find it beautiful...as long as the roads are 100% clear!

Today's card for Prickley Pear is a pretty one that has plenty of glitter and sparkle...with a touch of vellum as well!  I stamped the snowflakes on blue vellum with white Color Box ink.  Under the vellum that I sewed to the card with silver embossing floss, I tucked some iridescent sequins.
